BRAVISSIMO MARTINUCCI, uno dei pochi tenori drammatici con una dizione chiara, tecnica vocale, gusto musicale e rispetto per la partitura.

Good singing, strong dramatic presence. But who else can show the better the complexity of this fatal situation than Franco Corelli?

Gianfranco Cecchele.

I prefer this to the Zancanaro-Araiza version in just about everything, with one exception: Araiza acts great during the last two minutes of the duet, so does Zancarano in the Araiza-version, here the acting is pretty boring and Alvaro's slap just before the 'Ah, segnasti la tua sorte' is best described as milquetoast. But the singing here is supreme.

Nessuno! Franco Corelli e unico.

Zancanaro is great! Martinucci, despite his spinto vocal qualities remains superficial and boring, what he sings sounds all the same. Verdi demands more differenciation. Bravo Giorgio!!!
