Wasn't that same reason Lang ended up hating him ? He was able to snatch up the food stall but refused to even entertain idea of having a talk about selling it. Lang didn't dislike him simply for not wanting to sell. It was more so the selfish attitude of "What mine is mine, dont even talk to me about selling because I just want it even if I never open it".

Damn, I was hoping for the Marty x Cau arc to go on a bit longer, but I was surprised he even entertained Marty's idea in the first place. Being part of the WTSI crew requires a level of alignment with the crew's vision of Cypress--and a level of ego death. Everyone from the dons to the lowest ranked associates have sacrificed a lot of time, money, and individual pride for the greater good of the crew and the crew's future. Ultimately, it would've taken a miracle to smooth things over with Speedy about the Taco Shop beef anyway. In the end, Cau's his own self-made man and doesn't really have a reason to join any crew or gang, unless he can instantly start at an upper rank or starts his own crew.
