I was born in Memphis, TN and raised in Blytheville, AR then moved back to Memphis, TN then moved to Nashville, TN. Holy cow. How did I just now discover this? I am a huge fan of cover songs. The best ones are when an artist completely makes the song their own. As a 38 year old white suburban male, I assure you there was a time I listened to "Ice Ice Baby" far more than I should admit to. Sang it and danced to it on an embarrassing level. My jaw dropped at this version. You completely rock this! This would be a hit on radio if you removed the chorus and let people who don't know the original hear this on it's own. This is amazing. I am stunned.

To me, what makes a great cover is an arrangement and performance that elevates the song to be more than it used to be. This is a perfect example and one of the best examples I have ever seen. I was ten years old when the original banger dropped and it was so dope! This version just shows how genius vanilla ice was lyrically.👌🏻 the poor guy got dealt such a shit hand….. sued by Queen for sample robbery and held to ransom from suge knight. Such a sound guy as well. I still love all his tracks today 33 years on! One love ice man, stay real to yourself💪🏻
