Same for me. I quit playing SC2 ladder before HotS was released and just played a few arcade games since. Watched a few games occasionally after the AlphaStar thing got my interest. About a year or 2 ago I found Winter's channel and now he's the only caster I watch and it's every day thing.

Serral might be the best Zerg at the moment, but Dark is truly the most entertaining. And he is a different kind of monster when he is focused. There were times I forgot he is playing against Maru.

@@growtocycle6992 At the highest level, largely they dont die to stupid stuff or weird stuff. At least thats how serral plays. You cant kill him with mind games or stuff like that. So you just have to be really on top of what your doing. So it comes down to formula

@@growtocycle6992 one of the reason why some people still won't recognize Serral as the best player of all time. When Serral wins, he destroyed his opponent, which is not very exciting to watch at all unless you are already his fan. But when Dark or Maru win, sometimes they would comeback from a huge deficit (because they are not as dominant as Serral) and that would make a lot of people fall in love with them.

Though to be fair, he has been saying that for literally years at this point. Maybe he can find a way around, since he is now father. I know in Germany, it was rare (at my time in the 2000s), that fathers had to do their mandatory military service.

I havent played Sc2 in the longest of times - but a game cast by you is something Im always down for. Would you consider doing "profile videos" on the biggest names? I like Dark by the same reason I like Her0, they both seem to do whatever they like. But Dark indeed have 2 versions of himself. When he is really focused, the difference is visible.

Its the same with Hero really, though i think of the two of them, Dark is the better player, because even in important games Hero just makes too many mistakes, i mean his walloffs (or lack of) have become a meme at this point and not without reason. Personally i think that he should just put a probe in his walls with a shieldbattery behind at this point. That way he at least has something in his wall, after he F2s.

Dark did some things that I've been theorycrafting for awhile with ZvT. He cut drones in the high 50's to 60's a couple times in order to make sure he had enough army to overwhelm and shut down Maru's pushes instead of just barely holding on and he was able to tilt the map that way. He also got creatively aggressive to punish terran greed a couple of times and he used nydus both offensively, defensively and in order to feint (he nydus'd the main and killed the gold base instead.) This is what the zerg meta has to be in ZvT right now (besides Serral, he just gets to be better than everyone.)

I don't remember where it started, but the meme of Dark being the best player(zerg) as ranked by Dark is so fucking funny to me. It also reminds me of my favorite (sarcastic) comeback/joke whenever my abilities at anything are questioned. I just say "Nuh uh, I'm really good at XYZ, you can ask my Mom... She will tell ya."

1:03:48 pfft the game is old, I guess I'm headed up there too. I'm 35 and after being around Starcraft since 1999 I finally learned to actually play the game with strategy this year. I think it's because of how control groups used to work... shit makes way more sense now . Been watching tons of these casts the past few months too, as long as there's zerg 😂

Watching your videos almost daily has become one of my pass times Winter. I may not thumbs up every single time, but I do try to watch every video all the way through. Winter as just a 15 year old I’ve been playing this game semi consistently (just campaign coop and custom) since I was 3 with my dad until about 4 months ago I decided I’d give 1v1 a try since then I have watched every single one of your daily videos and more previous ones and I have to say they make my day a little bit better every time I tune in I’m at diamond 2 on my Protoss and Terran and your switch to kinda explain stuff has helped me soo much so I just wanted to say thank you ❤

I think Maru might be one of the few players Dark has absolute respect for, given the way he plays against him. For lots of other players, Dark is willing to play up the memes and just kind of roll with it. But against Maru, Dark brings his most try-hard A-game. Game 1 was almost hilarious, but Game 2, wow. Not only was Game2 some of the best Dark gameplay I've ever seen, it might be some of the best ZERG I've ever seen. Really immaculate.

I really don't know much about star craft 2, only started to look up beginner guides and such just so I can understand the lingo. But Dark by far is my favorite character/player of all time so far. And your commentary really helped me like him and understand him. Best player in the world by Dark, it's Dark! That's just so funny to me. Now the final boss is leaving due to required military service time. Rip. I'll miss watching him. Hopefully someone can take his place in the meantime.

The nydus is such an unbalanced mechanism. No risks for almost instant infinite units teleport with no regards to distance. Terran and protoss have so much risk while moving units across the map

Its amazing how DARK plays such a different brand of Zerg and wins against the best Terran in the World. No doubt DARK is great, but I think it also has to do with the tournament style of the GSL compared to the oversee tourneys. You can really plan for your opponents styles

Winter I think you can continue to branch out into creating personalities and voices for all the units. I think you did it recently with some Terran unit and it was funny. This is sort of along the lines of some of the funniest Tastosis jokes. Where they draw from the lore and sort of make fun of it.
