The S-Cross easily feels like the best Maruti car, do you like it #FasBeamers?

I finally bought SCross Z MT in May'22 as my first car and got one for my father as well in Sep'22 (right after the discontinuation announcement). This video and the drive test by Faisal is on point and had been my primary reference. The car encloses multiple characters. The K15B engine is smooth and refined being a 4-Cyl unit and has been tuned to a sweet spot between performance and fuel efficiency. I have derived 23.5kmpl while cruising between 80-90kmph below 2.5. The city mileage is ~17kmpl. Performance-wise, the engine comes really alive above 2.5rpm. Being an NA engine, the power is linear, of course, and might not let you win a drag race against a turbo powered one but it also never disappoints on roads. Easy/confident overtakes with a drop shift in gear. The handling is superb. The crossover design, with the centre of gravity being low, assures stability like a sedan while the 16" wheels and 180mm ground clearance assures confidence like a SUV and lastly, fun handling like a hatchback. The Smart Hybrid tech might not just be a gimmick and it does seem to slightly improve the performance by adding few extra RPMs and thus, also contributes to fuel economy. It has been built as per the European standards which appears evident while noticing the the exterior and interior build quality. Thank you Faisal for this video!🤍 Cheers! I miss the DDiS 320 Diesel engine debuted for the first time in S-cross. The most powerful diesel motor ever by the Manufacturer. 1.6 L DDIS 4 Cylinder DOHC Diesel and produces 118bhp and an Earth Shattering 320 Newton-Metres of Twisting Force. Moreover, Maruti gave it a 6 Speed Manual Gearbox. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

If our whole country had a bad snowy weather condition then every brand have probably offered AWD and 4X4 option in their jacked up hatchbacks too.

One of the better reviewers in India,FKs enthusiastic and informal style combined with a good choice of words(rightly calling the auto-gearbox as stone age) and frankness makes this review outstanding.

People - where is the sunroof , charging ports, rear ac vents , leds and connected car system??? Maruti - but we made this car 4stars safety 🤷🤷

I still think instead of Baleno, if we had extended our budget, we could've got this but Baleno was newly launched at that time so attracted towards that. When S cross was launched, I really had a crush on this car😁. It's still a great and sturdy car form MS and I hope maruti brings in cars that are built like this.

Missing the diesel Multijet with the manual gearbox a lot because that engine was so much fun with the incredible mid range punch to put a smile every single time!

My 2019 S Cross has the 1.2l diesel and returns between 16-23kmpl mostly due to the fact that I drive in the city and rarely on Highway. It has the Smart Hybrid badge too so it's not exactly new.

The European and Japanese spec S Cross offers a panoramic sunroof, three driving modes, a 6-speed gearbox and paddle shifters. Indian spec is not offering any of these. 😂😂

SCROSS is underated premium crossover . adding a spoiler add more looks to car and change that hatchback feeling opf the car and also better than breeza and any other susuki cars also it has more leather touch and soft touch plastics

@Failsal Khan: The review looks great. I just had this query, the smartplay studio(infoitment system) is quite in scross different when we compare it to other Maruthi models like Baleno. I dont see Vehicle alert options, and Fuel economy view through a slider. Have you noticed this? is there a workaround to get those in S cross?

A big NA engine is anyday better than small overstressed 3cycl turbo engine. Though this car needs more power.

we just bought a 2020 s cross petrol zeta variant. it feels like a bmw in terms of driving manners in my opinion having sat in a 3 series at high speed. A bigger naturally aspirated engine from suzuki and honda is much cheaper and easier to maintain than a korean direct injected high pressure turbo 3 cylinder. People don't seem to understand this fact that high horsepower and torque dosen't always mean a better engine. I am saying this as a car enthusiast and i have driven and owned cars like the mahindra scorpio (amazing car and amazing engine) and have compared everything from hyundai and kia with the s cross.

I have a scross and a compass, scross gives an average of 23 on highways and 20 in city where the jeep only gives 19 on highways and 16 in cities, so when ever I and my family plan a long drive we always opt the scross not the jeep, my jeep ran for about 50k kms and scross ran 1lakh km it still is in good condition.

Your review seems that you exaggerating the old design as new one and you haven't seen it before? fuel economy is based on individual driving. I used to get 23 to 30 in my 1.3 diesel at 80 kmph. And when you make rash driving it will give 16. Same way the petrol might provide fuel economy.
