We finally got the opportunity to drive the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift 2024 manual to test its fuel efficiency and performance. The new model now gets a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z12E engine that is slightly less powerful than the K12B. It's produces 7PS less at 82PS and 1Nm less at 82Nm. We drove it for over 255Kms with two persons in the car with AC on all the time.

I get around or sometimes over 22 on highways from Baleno 2016 petrol. I am seriously amazed by its fuel figures because its delivering even more than what company claimed.

I did 1500kms trip with my Brezza 2022 recently. Got tank to tank mileage of 19.5 kmpl. I drove on highways, city roads, ghat roads and the engine is 1500cc.

To the point review no bakwaas. Not polarised or biased. That what I like about Vikas Yogi❤❤❤❤. Summary:- Not that engaging as k12m but somewhat good low end punch(good for city driving). Handling is good. Ride quality improved over the last gen. Really dont like the "khuli huyi bonnet" somehow 😂😂. Thanks 🎉🎉

My 2022 Scross Petrol 1.5L 4-cyl K15B gives 18+kmpl on highway. 14-15kmpl on metro city roads. (it can give more if driven cautiously) and with shvs- torque assist, it is actually fun to drive. Sadly the car was never appreciated enough. and now a smaller 3-cyl car is being priced around the same.

I have an EcoSport 1.5 ltr dragon engine. It's a 3 cylinder unit. Its rev happy, quite powerful and completely refined engine. If you compare the z series engine with the k series, yes, there will be higher NVH levels but in isolation, it's going to be an excellent engine. Plus the low end behaviour is improved. So a bug thumb's up from me.

@@ashish.sharma.87 With due respect to your 'ford' three cylinder engine, basically, Maruti, educated us, about NVH, mileage, & overall quality, that too affordable!! This was a great combination, which makes them no.1 car maker of Bharat!! No.1( Toyota), No. 2 ( VW) have all lost the battle of Bharat( in car making)!! No.1 rides 'piggyback' of maruti!! Now, What was the need to go in, for a less powerful ( 81 bhp against 88) engine, with an increased NVH, I understand, is for Mileage!! So, this 1.2l. will give few k.m. more( 21/22 against 17) in regular traffic conditions!! For a few k.m., Maruti sacrificed their K12 engine, is beyond my knowledge to understand!! Only advantage of a three cylinder engine is, you save on a cylinder, thus, less Aluminium for the Engine!! At the cost of NVH & overall performance? Wrong decision Maruti!!

I feel marutis averages fuel efficiency figure shown on the mid is very accurate as i also tested tank to tank method and the variance was negligible

18 is impossible in traffic, infact even in mild traffic it'll never touch 16. But I can agree with 23 on highway coz baleno has low kerb weight.

From 89 to 82 is a near 10 percent drop in power..it will show in top speed for sure…they should launch a 99-110bhp swift otherwise all just buy the celerio instead

considering you mostly drove it on highway at 80km/hr, the 21KMPL fuel economy is on par with the last gen Swift and the Baleno with the four cylinders. The car didnt even reach near to the claimed numbers of 33ish so I dont get the point of installing a 3 Cylinder engine except for cost cutting. Am I missing something?

My Nexon gives 20 kmpl tank to tank on highway in eco mode, 18.5 in city & 16 in sports mode. Overall I think it's good considering a turbo petrol & higher kerb weight of the car. Swift excels in mileage but i have doubts about the build quality.

Tata Punch vs Swift 2024 vs Exter vs i20 vs Baleno vs maybe missed any another model in this segment. which is best buy strictly under budget of 9.5 lakh onroad price. 50k for accesories from manufacturers only. Not interested anything with aftermarket car decors. My requirements are steel wheels no problem (manage with good looking wheel caps), possibly large width tyre size, best driving experience with comfort back and front seating with features like arm rest, I usually go with 5 members seating. Ofcourse milage oriented too bcz of middle class, using the car occasionally 2 or 3 times in a month on highways of travelling 550kms from Hyderabad to my native. Remaining for city purpose. Required a decent touch screen, reverse camera and speaker system. Not very particular with ground clearance but performance and comfort, convience is priority. Currently using MSuzuki Ritz Diesel. Very confusing 😅 Thanks.

You can drive it for about a month before finally getting the permanent number plate. All you need is original invoice, insurance paper and other documents that you get from dealership.

Maruti se Hyundai-Kia 20% market share le gayi. Ye sweekar tha kyunki Koreans badhiya product dete hain with good engine and premium features at affordable price. Par jab loha-langar wali TATA apne ghatiya homemade 3-cyl petrol engine bech kar Maruti se 14% market share le gayi sirf "vocal for local" aur "safety" marketing par...to Maruti Suzuki tilmila gayi. Maruti ko bhi samajh aa gaya ki new Indian car buyers ko engine ki samajh to hai nahi New buyers kewal emotion pe car khareedte hain. To fir Maruti kyun mehenga 4-cyl de rahi hai. Ab Z-series 3-cyl hi saari MS ki cars mein aayega. Aur rates bhi kam nahi kiye. Near future mein GV-Hybrid wala 1.5L 3-cyl NA engine ab Brezza, GV, Ertiga, XL6 mein bhi aa jayega. TATA ne poore desh ko 4-cyl engines ko TATA👋 bulwa diya. Iss uplabdhi pe apne nikattam Tata fanboy ko badhaiya den.

ऐसे ही गलत माइलेज टेस्ट के चक्कर में मैं बलेनो 2023 ले लिया 20 माइलेज बताए थे 15-16-17 से ज्यादा कभी नहीं मिला टैंक फूल करा के माइलेज निकाला हूं हर बार ये लोग हाईवे में 4 लेन रोड में 2 लोगो के साथ 60-70 स्पीड में माइलेज टेस्ट करते है पर ऐसे गाड़ी अच्छी कंडीसन गाड़ी हमेशा नही चलती है इसलिए ये माइलेज डे टू डे लाइफ कभी नहीं मिलने वाला
