Atapattu is a great player, and this is his best innings ever. That said, Upul Tharanga was the better player in 2007 and SL was right to replace Atapattu at opener the world cup. Given that Atapattu isn't the kind of player who can come in late in the order and score immediately, SL was also right to prefer Chamara Silva, TM Dilshan, and Russel Arnold at 5-6-7.
