I like how the fiction of the MCU allows any faction to fight or ally with any other faction.

Some new rules coming soon. 10 crisis cards for the pool, soul stones don't take up a roster slot but have to be assigned to a character on the roster at roster creation. And finally mission selection is basically the same but you just randomly select 1 from your 3, not draw 2 and pick between them. Plus they're redoing a bunch of old cards. We've already seen Cap, green goblin, Modok, Hulk, and Shuri. They really improved Hulk.

Two smol rule things I noticed: 1.) Body Slide by One can only be done once a turn. 2.) Hex keeps you from rolling the extra dice for crits, but you still count the initial crit as a success.

The #2 point might have been the cruel twist attack against sabertooth which does completely negate crits.

Realizing how meta the Dr. Strange team is when Ash says, "My crits don't count?" And the response is "Nope." After two swings for 6+ damage... Woof! Lookin' for the updated cards and rules gameplay! There is a lot less "S" Tier characters and a little more balance.

To add to everyone’s comments. Enjoyed your intro. Prior to watching the video, I was thinking back ”Ash hasn’t done a Marvel Protocol vid since the initial wave with Modok and Hulk”. I’m glad to see my memory is not faulty. 😅 Look at how much is has changed since then, including the new updated Hulk. Now I just need you to bring back HEAVY GEAR.😉Ash, take a look at it. It’s in its third edition and it’s so much more streamlined with better activation counts and a less reliance on AOE attacks.

Been getting into this game over the last couple months and really enjoy it. Love seeing a fully painted board and minis to battle over it. One thing to maybe keep in mind for future reports is that while the game is fairly well balanced there are still some things over the curve and as soon as you ran through your roster and then Kevin's I was pretty sure who was going to win, his roster featured lots of "meta" picks whereas you had the casual X-force choices, especially in tactics cards.

marvel just makes for awesome content on the channel to be honest, a very back and forth game with many options when it comes to the scenarios and recognizable characters. Way more action oriented than for example batman both seem to be great games but marvel seems to lend itself way better to filming

wish DC would get back in the game, all of image and vertigos good stuff sits in their IP domain i was running a store the night arkham asylum dropped for clix and we went through three pallets because the owner had a 2 and 4 box special that they DID NOT CLEAR WITH DIAMOND that had the whole city pulling night one chases or you lads at osprey could just beat them to the punch with some superhero mordheim, which would be sorta inverse to most skirmish games, where people START strong, but get BETTER at their powers over the campaign yank a few long forgotten aberrant keystones for progressing mutants and call it a day lmao, id play that, would explain why your "heroes" never really die too, but youd go through sidekicks and civvies like drano

Hey Ash have you heard of the 'Free Kriegsspiel Revival'? Questing Beast (yt channel) just did vid on it but I can't post the link here. It's very interesting as it takes a minimalist view on wargaming to try and simplify but also immerse people in the game, taking influence from the big simplificiton of the game that happened in Germany back in the 19th Century, and from Dave Arneson's 'Blackmoore' Campaign. Could be worth checking out. Might make for some good content! Also don't forget 'One Page Rules' and 'Strontium Dog'!

I’ve always meant to ask: are the planters you use on your modern/sci-fi boards custom builds or from a shop (and if the latter, where?)? I love how they add some foilage to the street-level games!

They’re just cut out of foam and indented for the bricks with Woodland Scenics trees and foliage put in!

The starter set is a GREAT value. You get all the dice, measuring tools, and the crisis & tactics cards. The core models in the box are all playable as well. It is an investment you won’t regret!!

My group has really been enjoying it. Hope Dr Doom is on the horizon but Dormammu and juggernaut will have to tide me over.
