One thing I've noticed is they basically give no lines to anyone other than the Heroes directly involved in the story mission. Definitely a missed opportunity.

It's because Deadpool DLC added character. You had Hunter and Spider-Man required for mission and can choose +1. That's also why you will not see Deadpool at table meeting before mission because of the same reason

I finished the main campaign after finishing all the dlc’s and the dlc characters do get some dialogues in the endgame and can appear as the last heroes in the final fight with some commentaries and they even show up in the final cutscene.

Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 had two Ben 10s, Yuri Lowenthal (Peter Parker), who played teenage Ben in the sequel series, and Graham Phillips (Harry Osborn) who played Ben in the live action tv movie.

Love the rare moments in older Marvel media where they explore the greater universe. Even if it was deleted, it was still cool. Like the Doctor Strange name drop in Spider-Man 2, or the Punisher cameo in the same movie, even the scrapped idea to have Jackman’s Wolverine cameo in the first one. Not to mention all of the name drops in the film novelizations. Before the MCU, this was all we really had outside of the comics and some of the video games.

The game is turn based, you build a deck of cards for combat. When not in combat the game takes place in the hideout (as seen at the beginning of the clip) you will be tasked with running around the hideout to build friendships and build up the base/characters cards.

It's a lot like XCOM if you played that, with an expanded form of gameplay when out of combat. The combat is turn based and it's a deck builder.

The missions typically leave room for at least 1 random hero to bring along of your choosing, unfortunately they don't have lines except for during combat.
