The downside to media always portraying fictional characters as always exceptionally beautiful is that it creates false expectations for people in the real world. No everyone has the privilege of being beautiful and all humans have imperfections. And they tend to gain more as they age. We should be taught that these imperfections are normal, because they are normal in our world. It would decrease a lot of people's self loathing and make people less superficial.

I know this comment is from 5 months ago, but there are some things that really confuse me about people complaining about "woke identity politics" in this game. Firstly, the game takes place in New York City. If it didn't have "woke" stuff, it would be very strange. Secondly, Spider-Man is and always has been one of the most progressive superheros ever. If you disagree with that stuff, why even try to be a Spider-Man fan in the first place? I hope I don't come off as some "soyboy cuck" as some of you call the fans of this game. I'm just genuinely curious.

Heck, even the Insomaniac game dev said how much he knew that players didn't like the MJ missions from the first game, so instead of not putting them in the game, he crammed even more MJ missions in the sequel & said how much he didn't care what the fans of the first game think. He just wanted to show off how much of a girl boss MJ is, that she can handle extremely trained hunters & an army of symbiotes by herself & without any issues, while Spider-Man, who has literal superpowers struggles against an army of hunters & symbiotes. That's just lazy & very wrong to depict one of the most iconic superheroes as being weaker then an average human being. And don't give me the excuse that it's because he is holding back. Even when Spider-Man holds back, he can still take out trained hunters in like 2 or 3 hits at most, not 5 or 8 or more. And don't even get me started on the Miles Morales side missions, because clearly some those of side quests were put on purpose, just to push an agenda down on people's throats. Because yes, of course I want to play as deaf girl in a Spider-Man game or have to two dudes go on prom. Oh wait, no I don't. I want to fight crime and swing around the city. And what's worse is that some of these side quests are literally main missions for the player to progress through the game. And isn't it odd that Miles gets more screen time & play time, then Peter Parker? Also, Sweet Baby Inc. was involved in the games development, so clearly Insomaniac isn't the same company as it once was. Honestly, a lot of western game developers have fallen to the dark side. @ericdxfan511 No 5/10 is barely a pass. It's barely acceptable. 7 out of 10 is a 70%. Not barley a pass but also not super good. In between being passable and being a masterpiece. Anything below 5 is trash and a failure. So yes, 7/10 is a mid game because anything below a 5 is basically unplayable or total shit.

Clearly not the whole story, it's just that those "sales and praise" people don't feel like this is a problem, or they actively support it. And some people just choose to hear what they want and filter out the rest. I don't mind someone enjoying the game, it's just that I personally cannot, and a video like this explains the reasons. Also, "big sales + good reviews = good" is a very shallow way to judge anything, especially nowadays. @@destinjones6624
