The hardest thing about being Spider-Man is that you can't always save everyone.

This mission says it's for Peter or Miles, but it's practically a crime to not do it with Peter.

I unknowingly made this my last mission before 100%… 😢

A very simple side mission, but probably the most beautiful one

I say this as someone who is absolutely a bigger Batman fan than a Spider-Man fan: This is what makes Spider-Man the greatest superhero of all time. It's more than just catching people falling from exploding buildings and socking super villains in the face. It's being there for them in these human moments. Caring about them and connecting with them. He's a man trying to do the right thing, no matter how small. That's what a hero should be.

This was literally the last thing I experienced in this game to get 100% completion. My thought process was "Howard! He's cool! That'll be a nice wholesome way to cap off this game!" Damn.

*What makes this death so hard is that Howard had been fighting for a long time, despite that, he continued to find a way to keep going... And he died satisfied. I remember in the first game how hard it was to catch those birds and the genuine joy i felt after bringing them to Howard. I've been fighting long battle with depression, and some hiw i keep winning no matter how hard it was. Thank Jesus for that. I've been so proud of myself and how ive been handling everything. Thats what makes me tear up, because i can relate to Howard. Keep fighting the good fight guys!! You got this!!💪❤*

This, this is what it truly means to be Spider-Man, not just all the fighting and the cool suit and all of those things, but connecting and empathizing with the people you’re helping, that’s what it’s really all about

Don’t be sad he’s gone. Be glad we got to know him.

This might be obvious to some, but Howard is actually voiced by Dave Fennoy, the very same guy behind Lee Everret from Telltales The Walking Dead, I think that plays a large role in why I like Howard so much.

"Not many folks have been kind to me in my life." And the sudden silence afterwards is what got me emotional for Howard from knowing that he passed. From meeting him as Spiderman in 2017 up until now I couldn't help but to pause the game for a moment and shed a few tears for him

You can hear the sadness in Pete's voice when he says "the flock is free". To all the PS5 owners playing this game I'm sure this is hitting in the feels.

Howard died in peace knowing his friend helped his family find a new home. Truly such a wholesome ending

I legit thought Howard I was just gonna leave New York for a while. I did not think he was gonna die. This was really unexpected. Rip man

The way my jaw dropped when I first played this mission. This was so left field and definitely left an impact. For as simple as it was, this is one of the best side missions I’ve ever done because of its own side story and the personal investment over the history of this specific Spider-Man.

The way Peter said "the flock is free" last line

Legit cried my eyes out. I was expecting another "help me catch mah birds spiderman!" I groaned to myself when I realized it was a Howard mission but the instant Pete sat down next to him and was just chilling with him I knew what was coming. Seriously cried more when Howard was gone than the end of the game.

I knew there was a trophy for Howard, but as soon as he asked to find his pigeons a home, I knew.

It’s sad but I’m glad for Howard. He gets to reunite with his wife. As a man that lost my wife to cancer when our only son was 9 months old, this hit hard.

Honestly made me tear up, I liked Howard, and as soon as that song played (which was a great song) I knew he was about to die, still didn't make it any easier when I returned to the dock, only to find that he had indeed passed away, just... damn.

I genuinely cried watching this. Howard was one of my favorite characters from the last game. Didn’t think this would be the last time we’d see him😣. But this is also what I love about Spider-Man. Not the giant battles with villains or team ups with other heroes. Just a guy doing what he can to help everyone. A friendly neighborhood Spider-Man

No matter how many superheroes come and go, Spider-Man will always remain the closest to my heart.

That's so sad. I really liked Howard in the first game but at least now he's with his wife again. You know its a good video game when you can say something like that. Rest in peace Howard

Damn, you can hear the pain in Peter’s voice…

The song "Seabird " and i share a very strong emotional connection. I can't help but feel recognized by the lyrics and music. You can't imagine how much my heart swelled up when it started playing while Spiderman glided and swung through the air, followed by the flock of birds we've chased. I think Spiderman is an inherent force of good and human spirit. More than an action hero, to me, he's the hero of the people. Always willing to empathize with someone and help in small but human ways. I truly can't express how much joy this segment has brought to my entire life.

It hits hard when You still have Black/Venom Suit powers during This Mission. NOT ONLY Black for Mourning BUT ALSO The pain could feed The Symbiote more

These games get a lot right, and have a lot of love with all the suits, references, photo mode, but stuff like this is why these are truly inspiring and emotional masterpieces

The fact that Howard will never know that Pete made special protocol in his name, whenever Miles encountered pigeons...

Dam you insomniac, this was the best side quest by far

In the 3rd game there better be some sort of memorial for Howard that you can visit, like for Jeff and May. I know Howard wasnt as close to Peter as May or even Jeff for Miles, but it would still be nice

I was expecting some fun pigeon chasing, but instead I lead some pigeons to a new hope listening to seabird in the background. I knew something was off and it still surprised me. I teared... No cried over this. It hurt. Had to pause for a few minutes to process that. Gonna be weird seeing another game without him. Enjoy your adventure with your wife, Howard.

When Peter/Spiderman saw the ambuance and said howard's name... it hit me.. right here ❤...💔... R.I.P Howard.🕊🕊🕊

It was predictable but in the best way so beautiful. I played this one with Miles, after he saves the Music Exhibit, you unlock a very snazzy Suit Jazz outfit. One of the most memorable side ventures in all these Spidey games for me.

Literally just finished this. I knew where it was going almost right away, and I still couldn't help but break down in tears afterwards. Well fucking done, Insomniac. Plus, found a new song to chill out to!

I have always loved Howard. He was so cool even in homelessness and poverty. He found purpose in doing the little things one day at a time. And he had a strong sense of loyalty for his wife and his birds, which showed loyalty to him and the Spider-Men in return. He was everything a human being should be. Needs to be, even. I will always miss him. 😢😭❤

Love how insomniac manages to make missions focused on spidey's humanism He was not always about the funky suits, gadgets and combat, he was mostly about taking care of everyone and making them happy in the moments of need Like the comic where he hang out with the child with cancer Or the one in sandman's last moments he will always be my #1 hero

This was the last FNSM mission I did and it was a total accident. Howard was a simple character, but one you can understand. As much as I saw what was happening, it still makes for something I couldn’t really help but to tear up about.

I don’t cry, at all, but when I was flying over the water across the buildings over the bridge and the sun shining on me with the birdies surrounding me and the song started playing I felt a release I haven’t felt in a long long time and the tears started running. Absolutely beautiful mission and i am so grateful this was the game I chose to get back into gaming. Don’t worry Howard, the flock is free 🕊️

Now that I look back on it, he said “ancient city in the clouds”. Foreshadowing his own death. This side-mission was a rather tragic end

That’s why Spider-Man is the best Marvel hero…he actually connects with people other heroes aren’t able to.

When I got this mission, I thought to myself, “oh no, please don’t make chase pigeons around again.” Now I wish they just made me chase pigeons.

This reminds me of the Post Civil War story where Peter meets the One Above All and he showed him all the people that would’ve died had Spider-Man not been there to save them

There are so many people in the first game that none of us thought anything of, Howard, Hailey etc, But then, they die, and we feel it. Howard was set up as an old man who lost his wife ,fighting his own personal battle with cancer. And we have to return his pigeons to him. They were hard to get, and now we may never get that feeling again. R.I.P Howard, I hope you're in a better place.

I could tell where this is going during the conversation with Howard. This game has amazing side quests that are just talking to people, and this has a beautiful swing through the city as well. I’m gonna miss you Howard. But I’m glad you went out with a beautiful song. Listening to the lyrics it’s so much more heartbreaking.

I used the Amazing Spider-man 1 suit in the first game when helping Howard, then this one I used the Amazing 2 suit for this mission so it was more emotional for my first time playing

I think what really truly got me was the sad trimble in Peter's voice when he got back to see Howard. Only to find him gone.

As soon as I heard "I'm finally goin' on an adventure", I started to tear up. Almost couldn't finish this mission, because I couldn't see where I was flying. Beautifully done.
