@YangWenli219 not the case on PS5. VRR is 48-120. Insomniac has software LFC that they've incorporated into all of their PS5 titles. It should be smooth, but no, the PS5 does not have a native VRR range down to 20 or anywhere close.

Performance mode is kinda a no brainer here since Insomniac is one of the few studios that knows how to get ray tracing working in performance modes and still have a good frame rate

That's because the game was always intended to have RT in it so they optimize the RT around the PS5's limitations and their other visuals. They don't slap it in last minute. They deliberately added it and considered it in the optimization phase

Performance mode seems to be always the best option these days. We have gotten to a point where graphics r extremely good even on the lowest setting, and u would have to look extremely close to tell a difference. So for me, as long as performance mode has raytracing, I always do that.

Not always the best option of the best imagine quality, specially temporal resolution and fine details plus LODs are noticeably reduced, shadow quality lowered, traffic and predestination density reduced, over all resolution heavily reduced etc. still looks amazing in performance mode I’m pointing out its not “always the best option” if you care about the above factors. For me it’s 40fps mode, bit of the best of both worlds but it’s all done to the individuals tastes

I'm a PC gamer who's used to playing games at 60fps. Recently got my ps5 and played SM2. Tbh, I really love playing it on Fidelity mode. The graphics is just supreme and the 30fps gives out that "theatrical" feel to it (since movies are mostly 24fps).

Grass textures and vegetation in performance mode in marvels spiderman 2 looks so blurry they need to fix that, even marvels spiderman remastered has better resolution. I’m know playing the game and noticed that the game’s lighting looks better than the previous and some of the texture elements look good but marvels spiderman rematered has more stable resolution it looks much sharper, yes new game has more details but it has slightly lower resolution which covers those details much.

Its a big comprise when it drops below 1080p. The game looks worse then spiderman remastered in performance mode. And I play on a lg oled. Fidelity with VRR uncapped is the way to go, hits 40-55fps

Can anyone explain why the resolution range in Performance mode 120hz with soft VRR is lower than in Perf mode 60hz? From what I’ve understood the frame rate is identical between them, it’s just that VRR adjusts your screen’s refresh rate when it goes below 60, but why does it impact the resolution?

I tried playing the game with both settings and i was surprised that I actually prefer fidelity mode over performance. I understand the performance aspect of 60fps but the game feels more cinematic and alive in fidelity mode, even if you don't notice individual details more you still notice a crispness to it all.

Same. Everything just feels sharper and more alive in the fidelity mode. Feels kind of bland in performance mode. Though I don't understand why in this generation that at least 2K 60FPS isn't possible with keeping the bells and whistles. Consoles if this is all they can do are still very far off in terms of performance. (As someone who plays on console)

Honestly same. I’m a frame rate nut but I find myself not being able to resist the fidelity mode because it adds so much more detail and realistic lighting to justify the hit. Plus they got both settings feeling incredible. I played through it twice and the second time I did it all performance mode

Even in performance .mode and the lower resolution the image is very crisp and the differences in graphics is very small. Incredible job from Insomniac, this is a truly cutrentgen looking game and has a locked framerate.

*For Spider-Man 2 the 40fps mode with max beautiful visuals is the sweet spot* 40fps feels MUCH better to play than 30fps, and this is single player campaign so it's fine.

if insomniac try to make a 120fps mode i think its possible, disable the RT tecnologies and cap resolution in 1440p or 1080p

I don't think that will happen. Disabling RT might cause more issues depending on how they made this. The game was made with using RT reflections in mind. Also I think the CPU might prevent that

@@cleitonfilho3185 That will rely on Nixxies to change that. The game is designed with RT, not to use cube maps. I don't think this is going to gain as much performance as you think it will. Also you still have the CPU to worry about which is likely to be a bottle neck as it's certainly not the same as Spiderman 2018 in terms of CPU requirements

Guerrilla, Insomniac, Santa Monica, Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog, BluePoint... Sony has the most technically competent studios in the industry, you may or may not like the game but its technical level is impressive on a visual and optimal level... Others that share that level would be Capcom with RE Engine but only in RE do they exploit it to the max, Kojima Productions, Crystal Dynamics (RIP?) And other studies achieve a visual level of size but fail in optimization, Remedy, SE, CDRED, Take-Two, ect

correct me if im wrong but only insomniac has utilized a current gen console other studio were still bottle necked by ps4 i know bluepoint also made current gen exclusive but it was a remake not a game designed from scratch to utilize ps5 so we have lot more to see for them i dont agree with take two being on the un optimized list

If you don't have a 4K TV, performance is perhaps the best option. Plus, 60fps is a lot better than 30fps. Slightly less NPC density and microscopically worse lighting and shadows is worth it. I'd say go for Performance

En resumidas cuentas ... ¿qué modo es el mas equilibrado calidad rendimiento en una TV 4K 60 hrz?

Depende de lo que prefieras. Ambos son buenos modos y elijas el que elijas a los 5 minutos ya ni te vas a acordar del elegido porque tus ojos se acostumbran. Si prefieres mejores gráficos, más densidad de peatones y vehículos porque prefieres que se asemeje más a la verdadera NY pues te recomiendo el modo calidad a 4k y 30fps. Si por el contrario prefieres fluidez y sensación de más velocidad especialmente en el balanceo y gameplay al ser spiderman pues elige el modo rendimiento que lo tienes a 1440p reescalado a 4k y 60fps. En mi opinión algunos juegos los prefiero a 30fps priorizando la calidad y en otros a 60 priorizando el rendimiento. Te recomiendo que pruebes ambos modos para ver cual te convence más pero te recomendaría empezar por el modo calidad de 4k y 30fps. Un saludo.
