She's got one of the most unique fighting style in fighting game history ever (along with one of the cheapest) but what the hell, that's what makes her stand out. A character that comes back to life 10 times stronger than before and can destroy an entire team with full health in a matter of seconds? Hell yes.

Let's be honest. This beauty is a glass colon. Hulk can kill her in four hits (I've witnessed it happen.) But if you save up all of your level energy and release Dark Phoenix she turns into a super bad ass. I love her to death.

So glad Capcom went with the old classic Phoenix costume. It's simple yet memorable with an eyecatching and pleasant combination of green and yellow, I'm really sad it isn't considered an absolute classic design today and seems mostly forgotten compared to the rather bland 90s costume.

It's so sad what has happened to Jean Grey/Phoenix in the comics. I mean, she has gotten stuck in the vicious cycle of dying and being reborn multiple times. At least Marvel has been considerate enough to avoid bringing her back too quickly. Not only that, but she got cheated on by Cyclops with Emma Frost. I just hope the teenage Jean Grey can find a way to avoid getting her life stuck in the toilet.

Glass Cannons, they go down quickly, but in the hands of a master, they'll bring YOU down quickly. I'm fairly certain this'll be heard for more than a minute once people start mastering Phoenix. Which will more than likely be VERY terrifying

The developers knew what they were doing when it came to Phoenix. They gave her crazy ass damage in return of giving her low health. She’s the character that will get shit done but you have to be careful with her.

Changes to Phoenix in Ultimate. Note that all this is done, along with the new TAC system, to make Dark Phoenix harder to obtain. - Her health is reduced to 375,000. - If she's hit, all her TK Shots and TK Traps disappear. - You can only do 1 TK Shot in the air. - The travel length for her Crouching Medium has been decreased.

Honestly, it's because Cyclops isn't popular enough to put in another X-Men character. Deadpool was much more popular at the time (and still is) and uses much of Cyclops' gameplay from earlier games. Not that I mind, personally... I hate Cyclops as a character.

Deadpool was always popular throughout the comic book community. If anything, Deadpool's real popularity boost was when his game come out (To non-comic book readers this was the very first actual comic book accurate appearance of Deadpool). Me, personally I love both Scott and Wade, but putting Wade in the game was a pretty good choice in my opinion, though it would've been funny to read the dialogue between Scott and Jean if he were in the game.

whenever I see a Phoenix player they put her way behind on character 3. They always use the same tactic of waiting for level 5 ultra and then xfactor. so all you do is hit them and do snap back and take her out for a bit of summer slam

I use her pretty well! With her TK Shot and her TK Shield and when she's Dark Phoenix I use Double TK Shot and then do some combos then sweep with Phoenix Inferno Move!

+A.J. Farmer I remember when I had Phoneix and Wright in the same team while Dante as my battery. My tactic was to gather all evidence, land an objection, tag out to Dante, save meter for Phoneix, tag her in after I got enough, then I would try beating half the team of my opponent, if I die and resurrect as Dark Phoenix, tag out to Dante, open devil trigger and then tag out to Wright cause I'm in turnabout mode and start the destruction! (Just make sure you do it fast cause turnabout mode doesn't last long); But in the end, I'm a MorriDoom player. That team was just a gimmick, but it worked though.

@coocoopaper Their was a big tourney over the weekend. Regular Phoenix by herself took down an entire team after being snapped in. She's plenty viable and is one of the more feared characters since its REALLY hard to get that hit on a competent Phoenix. Also, she makes Sentinels cry thanks to his struggles with anyone with a teleport.

@metaXzero I definetly agree. I was playing online as chun-li amaterasu and phoenix the other day and phoenix was just terrific once my other people were taken out,. I didnt even have to go dark phoenix.
