The year was 1999 when Batman Beyond first aired on television and since then not only has this cartoon maintained a consistent IMDb rating of 8.1 to this very day but also attracted a massive, almost cult-like following. Full credits to Bruce Timm, Paul Dini and Alan Burnett for Batman Beyond that was released as the fourth and final series in the DC Animated Universe, one that’s produced by Warner Bros. Animation in association with DC Comics that spanned not only across three seasons but also generated 52 exhilarating episodes. Serving as a continuation of both Batman: The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures, this superhero animated tv series ended up taking a plunge on the darker side. From exploring elements like fear of the unknown, personal relations and emotions to diving further into science fiction and cyberpunk themes such as the dilemmas of innovation, technological and scientific progress influencing the society as well as the psyche of the character of Bruce Wayne, this animated series literally went to the future and re-imagined itself. Also the first Batman series to have the hero portrayed as a teenager, Batman Beyond was absolutely fantastic in terms of its gripping premise, riveting chapters and of course, a brilliant work of animation on display.

The villains of this show had some of the most disturbing and insane deaths/demises. The one I remember the most is in this video, Shriek going deaf and then realizing what happened to him, scary stuff.

I have always loved this show and all the rouges Terry went up against. Some of the dark episodes that stuck out is when Peek "fell forever" and when Mr. Freeze wasted that doctor who turned on him. So many good episodes though. To this day I still want to know what Melanie's note to Terry said.

A good part of me wasted you added the episode April Moon because it was it was a good episode was also a very dark episode especially the ending when they found out that the doc's wife was cheating on him and the doctor got his revenge in the end.

HBO Max has an incredible "DC Comics Hub". Pretty much has every single animated Batman series & movie ever made on there. I watch the Batman Animated & Batman Beyond all the time on it.

I respectfully must say that you left out some great Episodes from BB. The Mr.Freeze episode just goes without saying, and the Slappers episode which shows Venoms ultimately taxing effect on the body of Bane was an excellent re-visit and analogy of the affect of the dangers of Drug Abuse.

There is one episode that Should have been here - 'The Last Resort'. Just the concept of the episode itself was dark. And the final implication that some people can never be saved from themselves hits hard.

You know what's funny is that Evan Dorkin and Sarah Dyer not only worked on certain episodes of Batman Beyond and Superman: TAS, but also were writers for several episodes of Space Ghost Coast to Coast. Funny how they connect together in terms of their writing for all three shows.

Honestly? It never really sinks in that seeing Terry in uniform would remind Bruce of his failure during rebirth. Not only because he’s physically incapable of ever truly taking the mantle back, but also because he wore the beyond suit during his final night.

What I love about Batman beyond is the Maine character McGinnis and Bruce and they represent each other in the most light instances for instance McGinnis is a prime example of Bruce of his youth when he first started Batman and Bruce is the prime example of vengeance as McGinnis as teen looking for a path for justice both are as one and as you could see McGinnis was starting to become Batman in a way becoming more detective and a loner more secretive and becoming emotionally numbed like Batman hiding his emotions too well I guess that's why Bruce allowed it because he knew what he was becoming and knew that this was his best chance for him to succeed McGinnis to pass to him as the next Batman

There was talk of a movie around 2003-ish but that got shelved for Batman Begins. There's been renewed talk of it recently because of how advanced CGI has become and Michael Keaton coming back as Batman.

Normally I wouldn't mind but... Current media is not good for anything... They focus more on agenda than quality. And heck, I think the ones that do al DC live actions are Warner... And just look at their wonderful series as of late :/

Batman beyond one of the most underrated batman characters in the mid 90s to early 2000s and one of the best batman beyond cartoon tv shows in the history,but these one from the future in 2020 or 2089 with the same place the original batman cartoon tv shows air in the year of 1993 and that is the first original title called batman the animated series in 1993 the same place of batman beyond universe.To give me, these batman beyond tv shows one of the most darkest batman characters and one of the most darker storyline.More better than the original from batman the animated series 1993 one,well don't get upset everybody with that I said it is very hard to tell about it.The new character of batman beyond is a young errand teenager boy who is the replacement dawn of the new hero dark knight crusader named Terry mcginnis and also known as the new batman character to replace the original batman is Bruce wanye who get older now because he had a bad health condition problem,The batman beyond drawing image look like a mix of blade runner 1,akira,ghost in the shell anime series,appleseed anime series,bubblegum crisis.It was totally cool and awesome,but it was fun to watch these memorable batman cartoon tv shows.

correction: batman beyond is not the final series in the DCAU... all the shows are Batman the Animated Series/The New Batman Adventures, Superman the Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Static Shock, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited and The Zeta Project. It isnt even canonically the DCAU finale. That goes to the JLU episode Epilogue #KeepEpilogueASecret

Batman beyond cartoon is too dark. That l created Batman Beyond the Scarecrow's Curse fanfiction story after Batman Beyond the return of the joker. Neo-Gotham City's schools, nightclubs, arcades, the mall and all the shops was shut down by Batman beyond/Terry,Bruce, Barbara and Tim. And, Terry's bullies like Nelson, Blade and all the popular kids was expelled and send to juvenile hall prison in 10 years. And, Willie Watt dies at juvie and Blade was crying that she missed her beloved lover Willie. It revealed that Blade didn't date Jurgen (Terry's friend dates a robot)that she was visiting Willie at Juvenile Hall prison (The Eggbaby). And, Ghoul, Chucko, Woof, Terminal, Paxton Powers, Payback/Kenny Stanton, Sean Miller, Nelson, Blade and all the popular kids was abused and tortured by Warden Lyle Bolton/Lock-Up by giving them scared straight of hell. And, Terry's girlfriend Dana recover from the hospital of her coma that she was saved by Catwoman/Selina Kyle's black cat that she has feline powers. Dana's strict father Stephen was murdered by her evil elder brother Douglas/Joker King is a evil Jokerz Gang member. And, Terry met a new Nazi villain called himself Toy Wonder known as Willie by faking his own death at Juvenile Hall prison, that Willie was hiding and not going to juvenile hall prison by hiding at the nightclub, that Willie saw Terry fights the Dee Dee Twins at the nightclub(Return of the joker). And, Willie open his nerdy face disguise that he's face is very attractive like Dick Grayson's looks. That Willie told Terry's origin that he is Bruce's clone son and Terry was shocked. And, told Terry of his origins that his death evil Nazi father Frank make a deal with the Scarecrow by drinking his essence with the right eye of Dick... And, he told Terry that his father rapes and kill his kind Japanese mother Miyuki that he was born. And, Terry was shocked that Willie is the biological son of Frank, Dick and The Scarecrow. And, they fight. And, Terry show Willie the truth by removing his Golem machine inside of him. And, Terry was shocked that Willie has gifted psychic powers. And, Terry order Willie to use his psychic powers by destroying Neo-Gotham City by creating a earthquake by ruined their Internet. And all the citizens of Neo-Gotham City became panic, mad and lost hope. And, Terry and Willie became Batman and Robin to save humanity. Nelson, Blade and all the popular kids becoming villains to kill their abusive parents. Nelson and his jocks becoming Red Lanterns by Dex-Starr the evil red lantern Corp cat. Blade became Gesalt(a new version of Poison Ivy) by using her plant powers by eating Willie's corsage of her gifted powers. Corey and his nerds summonds the demon Axilano to kill their bullies Nelson, Blade and all the as their revenge, and they all are Derek Powers/Blight' half children. And, Derek Powers is a Nazi. Inque suffer of her sickness by turning her daughter Deanna just like her... But, they both having a fight. Harley Quinn's grandson J-Man (Dee Dee Twins' elder brother) became a runaway by staying at Tokyo by creating more Jokerz Gang for his beloved death grandfather The Joker.
