We all love a good dose of sci-fi horror-based anthologies, and Love, Death & Robots were a treat for the fans. This show was released on Netflix, and it immediately attracted a lot of attention for the uniqueness of the stories and the innovative presentation. It gained a lot of popularity, and by the time the second season came up, it quickly shot to the list of the top ten most-viewed shows on Netflix. The second season cut down on the number of episodes, but the quality of episodes seemed to have improved. The quality of animation, in particular, was simply out of the world, and we were smitten by some unnerving tales of technological horror.
The stories ranged from everything from humans facing the wrath of evil aliens to the usual humanity vs. robots and even the ones featuring demons and other savage beasts. Some of the episodes were straight-out shocking, and the climactic twists made the stories memorable. In this video, we will take you through some of our favorites in this entertaining series. These episodes are easily some of the scariest ones, and it is time to dim the lights and enjoy the show!

"Beyond the Aquila Rift" was an episode that really stuck with me. I really liked that the big scary spider-like alien seemed nice and wasn't trapping ships on purpose. It apparently just wanted Thom to enjoy himself as he slowly wasted away, since there was nothing else it could do to help him.

That's the point that this alien truly humanely cares. Even in original story Thom knows and recognizes that this is a creature that cares for lost souls... But still seeing the reality makes him lose his mind. The episode absolutely shown the amazigness of story by giving image to alien and the beyond place and the ship. Story reveals that he maybe traveled a decade hard to say but on Earth 150 years passed and even if he could figure out a journey back it would take also 150 years. In original storyThom is married and he cheats on his wife with Greta and that's when she reveals more truth to him. This alien absolutely has a human brain ability and understands social clues so complex not all humans understand - "Fuck you." "Yeah Thom you did, that's the point. That's how I knew Katerina couldn't have meant that much to you." Only then she reveals he is not in Saumlaki station. This alien also fully understands physiology of different alien species, space travel.... Its an alien like we never had in cinema. And story reveals that this place is indeed where many ships were stranded but Blue Goose isn't another ship- it's the first HUMAN ship to be stranded there. In last sentence, before he loses his mind and she resets him again, it's said: "And in the center a matriarchial chamber (...) in which lived something that wanted nothing more but to care for the lost souls." There are as many layers to this story as there are to Dune books. Incredible. But still in my opinion number three. Number one episode was Swarm. That was genius and even more horrifying than Greta. It was essentially showing humanity meet its ender. "Intelligence is not a winning survival trait". We keep forgetting that as a species. You can't fuck with alien that can create any creature to fulfill any tasks it wants including ability to copy humans but stronger and opposing humanity to finish humanity. An organism that can look at a human and decide if it needs to develop any point of humanitys evolution to fulfill some relevant task, from one cell organism to homo erectus. And number two episode is with the giant crab. Because of how main character handles the whole situation, manipulates people to do a good deed to save countless lives.

lol this is just a different way a spider eats thats all, and ships are just insects to its huge web, this spider is beyond drinking blood, it feeds off of feelings and memories the body is consumed of life then moves on to the next one. Tom is the last one of his crew! And that spider who i can imagine doesnt get many visitors.... likes to play with her meals!

Beyond the Aquila Rift is by far my favorite episode in the series. Its one episode where you have the contradiction of absolute horror combined with the absolute neutral morality. There is NO monster. There is NO one to blame because it was just an accident. You have the protagonist in such a horrific situation that you can barely comprehend it and yet the one who would expect to fill the monster role is actually doing their best to play the part of a hospice nurse. This episode takes all of your preconceptions and turns them on their hand while still making you want to crawl out of your own skin.

Just to clarify the first episode shown, Sunny didnt switch with her monster... Sunny IS THE MONSTER. "switched places" could be interpreted in other ways for people who never watched the episode about Sunny. She was never in that body since it was destroyed, she fought in the monster's body as her own, and that is her edge against other fighters who didn't face any risk. absolute TOSH, indicative of that absurd binary thinking need for "the greatest" this or "the greatest" whosits. he was a pretty fair hand no doubt about it but actually his GREATEST achievement(s) may very well have been his mentorship(s) & cultivation(s) of non-white writers in the genres of dystopian, speculative & 'hard' sci-fi, not the least of whom was octavia butler. as for ellison being "the greatest", yeah sure, as if philip k. dick, asimov, heinlein, bradbury, the strugatsky brothers, ursula k. le guin, stanislaw lem & all the other ridiculously talented writers did not exist. there is no "the greatest" here but actually an embarrassment of riches. expand your reach (considerably) brohim, & you will (hopefully) be richly rewarded.

I actually like love, death, and robots. It's a mix of things, that both entertain and scare you. They also get you thinking at times too. I love the introduction in sonnies Edge, and good Hunter. I love the idea of monsters, and a machine Kisame is awesome. In fact, I have it as a background and as my Firefox icon image. And then I also can't get enough of the sci-fi / horror, space episodes. It's like bringing back the good old days of 80s movies. I always thought it was a nice twist that Dracula or a soul-sucker would be afraid of a cat. Can you go back to the whole Egyptian next thing, that mummies are afraid of cats otherwise Bass. But all through the house, kiss me asking the same question internally, what would have happened if the children weren't good? Would have been like Krampus and she just ate them or would it have just regurgitated a gift full of coal? The idea of Santa Claus being a grotesque monster, was brilliant.

It's nice to see so many people love Beyond the Aquila rift. It's a great story! I feel for tom and everyone who found themselves in this alien hive. It wouldn't be the easiest to acknowledge. But I wish tom could've worked together and befriended the Spider alien. All it wanted was to take care of those who unfortunately found themselves trapped there. Which is extremely nice and selfless. I wonder if tom could've used the surrounding wrecks of ships to either escape or at least help keep him alive. And he could live there with the spider alien. They could even work together to save tom or get him back home to prevent more people from getting trapped there in the future. Ultimately, while this would be a very hard situation to come to terms with. I still really think, tom could've found some positive things about the situation he was in and maybe even come to adapt to it. While it seems like the end, it doesn't have to be. He had a helpful friend with him, so it was possible to turn the situation around or at least I hope so. Tom's incoming death being the first thing they would need to overcome. But once they did that, it's smooth sailing!

I found Love, War, & Robots through “The Secret War” I saw the episode on KZfaq and it looked awesome, I went to Netflix to watch what I thought was a whole show about that, but then I was kinda disappointed to see that it was instead a show of many short films

Well, since you spoiled Beyond the Aquila Rift, at least i would present some food for tought... Besides the plot twist in BAR, theres some aspects of this story that most folks don't notice... Even folks who saw the ep and got shocked by the ending, may not notice or fully comprehend what exactly BAR was about... So here some facts, Beyond the Aquila Rift is based on a story of the same name fro the writer Alastair Reynolds. He is also the author of Zima Blue. When folks talk about the most philosopical ep from the LDR, one that usually come on top, is precisly Zima Blue... In the ep of Zima Blue theres a subtle and very discreate reference to Beyond the Aquila Rift... What is this reference? When the journalist talks about the meaning of life, in this case she was refering to the meaning of life from the perspective of robots, but she does hint the meaning of life for ORGANICS... What is the meaning of life to Zima Blue, a highly advanced robot? DUTY, the end of Zima Blue explicitly reveals that. It is perfectly balanced with BAR because it's simplicity. On the other hand we have BAR...a giant WTF... it chaos, is error, is absurd, is life... is LOVE, love in all forms, from maternal love, romantic love, to and UNIVERSAL LOVE! Everything is there if you paid attention, is everything there, the MEANING of LIFE for organics is LOVE! What twin a masterpiece!

I only recently found out that they changed up the orders of the episode based on the people watching. I love Netflix when they do their own thing my first episode was 3 robots and then sunny edge I was so hooked! I can't wait for season 3. Beyond the Aquilla Rift is my favorite episode and I hope to see more like them the animation is the most beautiful thing I've seen 100 percent better than the stuff you see in movies or so I feel I just can't wait.
