I remember watching this on live TV..My jaw dropped...I couldn't even explain how proud it mad me feel.. Marvin made it a Marvin Gaye tune.. He could've finished it off with some Sexual Healing 😅😅 When it was over..the very first thing I did was made SURE my VCR had recorded it.. Then I called everybody that I knew..telling them to come over and listen to this...Those were some awesome times 😮😅😅😊

Sis...Marvin Gaye's voice was smoother than silk. Didn't matter what he sang. His performance of the National Anthem at the 1983 Super Bowl is one of the best! It's the second of my two favorites. (It's been 32 years since Whitney Houston's version in 1991...and I still get chills.)

I dont do the flag or anthem as a person of color, but when i saw this on tv the lakers playoff game it brought tears to my eyes, chills threw my body cause he did that even the crowd got into it to the point they clap, scream to a song thats so sacred even tho it dont pertain to people of color he put alot of emotion in it ( home of the free) its 2024 July and people of color still not free still fighting for rights, jobs, equality...nobody will ever sing this better then Marvin , not even Whitney , Marvin you owned that i love you ❤
