From what I understand is kerosene lacks the lubrication that diesel does and it could be hard on the pump. I run diesel in mine with a touch of Lucas fuel treatment and it’s been running great all winter. I reprogrammed the unit to use less fuel but move more air, it was 1.8 Hz to 5 Hz range, now it’s 1.4 Hz to 4.5 Hz. I run it on its highest setting for a little while just about everyday to burn the soot out. It seems like the shut down speeds the fan up and dials back the fuel to burn off the remaining fuel. I’m not sure if it’s necessary to run it at max just before shutdown.

Not just Chinese diesel heaters; there’s been some imported ones from Philippines or Vietnam (can’t recall; was on a fb group) and it became a fire hazard this way too. Tbh, all heaters will have this issue- just basic science 😅

He's definitely a bit crazy! I tried a propane heater in the back of my truck one time and was way to worried about lighting everything on fire I only ran it for a min before deciding cold is better than burning lol!

Yeah I was thinking the same thing when I saw how little empty space there was under the unit. And if it’s off the ground there won’t have to be such a sharp bend in the exhaust which will make it less likely to come off I would think.

Diesel is hard to set on fire it doesn’t burn like gasoline…it has to be a certain degree of hot for it to actually burn

@@TheRealEricRose Hard to set on fire, yes. But it will still burn. Once the fire or spark hits the vapors then it will burn. Also, if there is some sort of wick then it will burn much easier. Still very dangerous.

I always wondered about introverts and extroverts... The world needs extroverts or no one would talk and/or social life as a whole will suffer.. but what use do introverts play in this world? Like why do they exist and how did they become this way through evolution or was this brought on by our ancestors of the past (working in farms all alone as an example)... not trying to be derogatory.. but I am sure others are curious as well. @@johnsnow2022 personally I just don’t enjoy large groups of people for extended amounts of time. I definitely still enjoy the company of others, just in smaller groups. But I also am comfortable enjoying my own company at times and need that break from constant social interaction as well. As for the evolution or why introverts exist, I imagine there are a lot of reasons. For example safety, like really needing to know people and establish a trust to be comfortable around them and actually trust them to be social amongst them. Definitely a spectrum of introverts as well. Being an introvert doesn’t mean you don’t like people or crave social interaction at all, that is part of being human for sure, just means you don’t crave it at the level extroverts do. I think everyone has both sides in them to a certain point and those sides show more in certain situations

Excellent advice! I took a cooking class a few years ago and the chef drilled that into us. Never scrape your cutting board with the sharp edge of the knife.

He already dulled the blades with his constant need to just chop down through stuff straight to the board instead of slicing. You saw how it barely cut through the pork which it should've sliced like butter if they were as sharp as when he got them.

Diesel does NOT ignite by spark like the vapors of gasoline. Diesel is far safer and not nearly as dangerous. Dump some diesel on the ground and "light it on fire." it actually takes some seconds of constant flame to heat diesel to a high enough temp to ignite. Gasoline is not similar, in that,gasoline can ignite from a single spark to its vapors. This is why it is illegal to run your car while gassing up, but it is not illegal to run a diesel vehicle while fueling up. Just some food for thought.

on installs I've seen similar heaters used for in van conversions and such they usually vent out the bottom, maybe a bit to the side, pretty sure as long as he's not trying to use it inside an enclosed space it should be good as natural air movement will keep the exhaust from building up

It's ok where it sets, but I never heard you say where all that diesel came from? But you need to put something at the end of your exhaust pipe instead of letting it flop around under the truck. Also some people will say you need to put a piece of metal under the heater. I say you should put a piece of fire stone under it and in front of your wiring harness you have running thur the bed by it. Because metal will still transfer all that heat to your carpet and wires. Becareful Mav. ❤️👍

@syk0 a wood burning camping stove would be much safer and they make tent style Chutes that a simple piece of canvas over the window could take care of. They are perfect for tiny homes and camping conversions and much cleaner burn to the environment actually more natural I should say.

Yes the heater needs to be outside and heat pumped in with the heat output hose. The heater the exhaust and fresh air intake all need to be outside. And keep the fresh air intake far away from the exhaust hose. You may have to buy a longer fresh air hose. To keep it a good distance from the exhaust. Only thing going into the truck should be the heat output hose. The bigger hose.
