Originally like in the real history Francis and Mary didn’t get a long time together. So they had to show that sometime soon. The show had a lot of potential though. They could’ve literally come up with 2-3 seasons more, according to the real events that took place.

I swear, I come back every year to rewatch all of the edits and Reign, And still after every single time rewatching it, I am bowling my eyes out bc of Francis, he was the light, he made us fall in love with him! He and Mary made me believe in true love

I don't understand why Bothwell was portrayed as a good man in Reign...he was not at all...if anyone do a little research..they would would find what he did to Mary..how cruel he was.. Mary's sufferings and struggles were much more...there could be a whole extra season...but I understand the sudden snap in the last episode..the show was cancelled maybe because of the low viewership after Francis death.... Her true happiness died with Francis 😭💔

Why the historie ? He was a whole entire person marie was a sister for him they did not have love between them francis said that she helped him and he loved her like a SISTER he wasent the francis that was shown he couldnt even stand still in real life and propertly sit down and concentrate as a king he was always doing something with is fingers and never cared but he also was a good king and he wasent killed of he died of a middle ear infection (affect 4 )

The real King Francis sadly died when he was just 16 from an ear infection. Reign did a great job romanticizing the relationship between Queen Mary and King Francis. A brilliant performance by both Toby and Adelaide. Surprised they did not win more awards.

He always put her first no matter what choice she made , no matter how many times they fought . Yes he was stupid for many stuff he did including having a one night affair with Lola , but his love for her was true I hate history for killing him and also hate this serie that we didn't have more time with him , I do love the series but just wanted a bit more time with happy frary

I wonder sometimes if Shakespeare would have written this story if it happened before his time. It is a true Shakespearean tragedy, not only in the actual story but in what happened with this serial portrayal. Two star-crossed lovers whose countries play them like instruments of fate and fortune defy all odds and try to remain together only to have him taken from her too soon by natural causes. She seems to have truly loved him for the rest of her life, if you believe the poetry she wrote while imprisoned to be about Francis. Not as many couples have that kind of love, first love, lasting love, as we hope, and so we mourn with her as she loses it. Then, the show loses fans because they came to watch a love story rather than a historical drama, and the love that plays out afterwards is the political love that Mary and Francis families had at the beginning- a mocking facsimile of love that barely has the semblance let alone substance of true love. So, we end up where we began: countries aligning more swiftly than people. In between however, we saw a glimpse at true love, true happiness, and that is what draws us back- the love of Mary and Francis. Love is what we do best. Love is what makes life worthwhile. So, Mary's life, like the show, truly really ended with Francis.

2023 and still nothing I’ve ever seen compares to this love story. A love/tragedy that will forever stand the test of time. The chemistry between Adelaide and Toby was absolutely magical. It was a joy to see. Never seen anything like it. The way they saw each other and interacted 😏 and kissed was so natural. I know they weren’t a couple in real life but it sure felt like it. Amazing actors! When Francis died we all knew it was coming but never like that and so soon in the show. We all fell in love with him along with Mary. Had they prolonged his death the show would have lasted longer and not been cancelled. Plus I had the hugest crush on Francis 😂 so not seeing him anymore made the show just blah to me. I’m sure many viewers stopped watching due to his death as well. Anyways, this edit is one of the best I’ve seen so far. Amazing! Great job! ❤

claire No, the show is wrong. In the show he dies because of the brain injury he got, but in history he died because of an ear infection. Also Francis and Mary’s story in real life was definitely nothing like the show. In the show there’s too much romance and drama that didn’t actually happen between the real Francis and Mary.

claire Basically the only thing the show has taken from history about Francis and Mary is the fact that he was one of her husbands, he didn’t rule for long and he died very early. Everything else in the show about THEM in particular is made up.

La muerte de Francis fue muy fea la más de fea de todas ese galán no merecía morir el amaba a María la amaba y cuando vi por primera vez a ellos dos dije "son la pareja perfecta" les jure que lloré toda la noche y sigo lloran y estoy llorando justo ahora cuando Francis se murió fue tan innecesaria su muerte pudo tener un cuento de hadas con Maria😢😢😢
