Mary's first appearance on Dave's show. Not scheduled, she had been across the hall at Live-at-Five and dropped by to briefly chat with Dave. Taped July 11.

Mary Tyler Moore is one of the most gorgeous women ever to walk this planet. I met her once and she was the kindest most generous person and I love her show. Mary we miss you

If the definition of a successful life is having people say good things about you after you're gone, who can argue that Mary lived one of the most successful lives?

My all-time favourite film. Outstanding performances all around. Mary was amazing, cast against type by Robert Redford. The scene when Conrad erupts and storms upstairs, leading to the confrontation with Cal (D. Sutherland) is drama at its finest.

She looked pretty good for someone who was almost 50. Love Dave Letterman's 80s hair and looks too. Gonna miss her.

I love the way she just leaves as though she was literally stopping by the show as if it was Letterman's own house handbag over her shoulder and all, thought she was going to ask if he needed anything while she was down the street hahaha

Look carefully at the tall guy to her left as she exits the studio. That's her then-boyfriend, eventual-husband Dr. Robert Levine.

There's just something about Mary that even her unsuccessful shows are tolerable because of her. ❤

Seeing how Dave did one of his first jobs on her variety show in the mid-70's

That's what they were talking about. Did not last long. Michael Keaton was on that show too.

There's a clip from it on here on KZfaq, doing a musical #. Definitely a good laugh. Mary always said in later interviews, she had always wanted to do a variety show. But by that time they were on the way out and she had missed her chance.

That aquarium realization I’m presently having as a 46 y.o. erroneous thinking that others my around my age seem to look a decade older than me but the reality must surely be that It is those others that look a decade younger than me:(
