I live in Florida… the rules are, hydration is a multi day preparation. You just don’t show up and drink water, you have to prepare and hydrate days before and continue the practice while in a hot and/or humid area. Tourists come here all the time and fall out. 4 cups of water in the morning, and a Gatorade at noon isn’t doing anything for you.

@intheshell35ifyАй бұрын
I preach this. Pro athletes start their hydration days before the game. If you start day of, you are way behind. The other misconception is water equals hydration. The best hydration you can get comes from fruits and vegetables. Give me a bucket of tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, and a big ol salt shaker and I'll hike up a mountain. Or mow the yard. 😂😂
@Dead_Again1313Ай бұрын
Truth. I'm from Texas and was stationed in Death Valley between times in Iraq. Hydration should be continuous. And sodium intake is important so you don't induce hyponeutremia (flushing vital nutrients). It's life and death implications are very real.

83% of them don't have a Hajj permit. A Hajj permit is issued for people who come with an agency. The agency is responsible for providing all the services to pilgrims. They provide flights to Mecca, housing, food, transportation and all other services and the money goes to them. If they don't have permits, they are not allowed to enter Mecca, so they walk in the desert and climb mountains under the 120+f heat to avoid being caught, hence the high number of deaths.

Last year, across the US, over 2300 passed away due to heat stroke, mostly in the South and Mid West. In the US, 2024, so, far as of last week 230 people have been in hospitals for heat related emergencies. In Europe, in 2023, over 66,000 passed away to heat related death. Hopefully the homeless are being cared for as they are out in the elements; and the elderly are given air conditioners to protect them. Condolences to all families.

Saudi Arabia is a very wealthy Kingdom and they really should put a sports dome type of covering over it that can be open during nice weather and they should have doors that can be removed in nice weather but can be there to help keep cool air in when it's hot like that and they should have the place air-conditioned . They certainly have a lot of sunlight and all the space they need for solar power to make that possible . I hope somehow one of the shakes will hire a good architect to draw up the plans which should be relatively simple to do and they could probably have this up and built within several years . Nobody should ever have to die from extreme weather during a pilgrimage

Actually, it IS. The robe allows air circulation against the skin, promoting perspiration cooling, while keeping the sun off of the skin. The headdress reduces water loss above the neck, while again keeping the sun off. Then, when it gets cooler, wrap the robe tighter against the skin, while making a layer of insulation between the inner and outer folds. In survival training, we were taught to use the parachute to make just this kind of clothing.

I was actually there this year for Hajj. The main issues were 1) the number of people who were there illegally 2) people not knowing that Islam doesn't call for you to be in the hot sun for hours on end getting heat stroke when you could be in a cool/shaded area homie - common sense is mandatory in Islam bro. There were many people from surrounding countries who were there illegally like Egypt and Tunisia. Some people were actually scammed by travel agents in their country who brought them illegally - thats why you have to highly vet someone before you give them your money ... as you do with your home, jobs, etc. you gotta have your bases covered which many don't do - which Islam tells you to do. I even saw people who were from USA who tried to finness the system to be there (bro how you gonna come closer to God by lying and finnessing??). The healthcare system was overwhelmed by the people who were there illegally and many of those people ended up dying and many of the people who were there legally couldn't get the help they needed because the people who were there illegally overwhelmed the healthcare system. There were also many heat warnings that told people, especially the elderly to not travel or walk around mid day, but they weren't heeded by many - which is actually against Islam. In Islam we're told to avoid situations that put ourselves in the way of extreme risk like in this case. Hajj for those who are physically able and have all of the right resources in place and even within Hajj, if you're not able to do certain things you're able to deputize someone (for free) to do them for you so you don't have to go in the heat. Also alot of what people lack is proper education on hydration and how to get the proper support.

Wherever you go, you need to know the place, be it on the city alleys or rural back roads. Saudi and the rest of middle eastern countries have searing summers even at 12 midnight it would feel like high noon. Know the place before you go. They even have salt tablets there.

Why go and worship in a country that doesn't care if you live or die? I don't understand. Even in America we have homeless shelters and open the hydrants up if it gets too hot. Saudi Arabia is the richest country in the middle east, and you mean to tell me they can't give their pilgrims water? When people show you who you are, believe them.
