Maryland Gov. Wes Moore pardoned more than 175,000 marijuana convictions Monday, most of which are for misdemeanors involving the possession of cannabis. Moore told CBS News' Skyler Henry the move is meant to help people of color who are disproportionally affected by criminal convictions involving marijuana.

There must be legislation making expungement of criminal records automatic after a prescribed period of time. There's a statute of limitations for guilty people who manage to escape prosecution.

Well Baltimore dont need to worry about "the defunded police" now the streets will be peaceful and safe with no cops and 150,000 released from jail with no jobs, cars, homes, ... yea nothing can go wrong.

"Expunging" .. would be better. He is also raising all services and taxes by 60% ... look at the whole picture people. PS, I did HR for 20+ years Retired with covid. No company I know of looks past 3 years for nin security clearabce or sensitive access to peoples homes etc and 5 for caregivers, etc. Would often waive if there was no larceny or violence.😮

Only way, black communities will ever get the opportunities they deserve. Is not just making changes to court records. Public education in Maryland needs to be completely reforned. It's a crime against humanity, what democrats are doing to those kids. Which is not teaching them anything.

Because minorities have been targeted more and also are usually less likely to have money to get a good lawyer. Is there white folks in that category,? Sure! They just haven’t been impacted as much.
