Check out this Maryland invader vine! Akebia quinata is called the Chocolate Vine due to its blossom odor. Although it is an intriguing vine, in the video, you will see its aggressive character!

Great Video! I just purchased a small akebia quinata last week and will plant it in an area that i can control its growth.

Doesn't actually grow that quick onky a few feet a year or but it still roots where the stems tuch the ground but the snails love it they killed mine

My house was built in 1881 and I have Akebia vine. I've been trying to eradicate it, and I've almost succeeded, but it is still trying to return!

I actually bought a chocolate vine due to its edibility and later read about its destructive invasiveness. I had planted it to grow up a black walnut to hide the fact that a neighbor had pruned my walnut tree down to a totem pole without my permission. ANYWAY, the chocolate vine hasn't grown and is very yellow so must be susceptible to juglone toxicity. I hate to pull it up but am kinda hoping it'll just die on its own now.
