- PLEASE READ -
Recently I have been reading a book about Mary, and I found some (even more) facts I wanted to share with you :) (that you hopefully don't know)
Because the other 'facts' video got so popular, I thought you would like getting more! Guess I'm gonna keep making these videos forever now lol
Hope you learned something new and liked the video ❤️
And again, remember - this is the REAL Mary Stuart and Francis, not Reign-Mary & Francis. I have just blended some scenes from the series to make it look more interesting.
...
All credit goes to the author of the book. (See end of video)

After the death of Francis II, Mary customarily wore black to symbolise the loss of her husband and the loss of her French crown.

I read a book of mary's life and francis not only adored her but he was very much in love with her! She was with him every day till he passed and just before he did he testified to her virtues and his love for her that she was perfect in every way! When he died mary was so heartbroken that she took leave for 3 months in one chateau away from court and she wrote poems about her late husband.. She was adored by the French such poise and beauty! After she left for Scotland King Charles the brother of francis had a portrait of her and often he said that this brother had an angel for a wife and she shouldn't have left!! Actually the love that francis and mary had was much stronger that the one in the show!! They were young in love and inseparable

also it was true to history that Catherine de medici was indeed involved in some way to the occult, and Nostradamus really did play a part in her affairs. the medicis also funded the renaissance period in italy and her family name commissioning most of the architecture and the arts. that would explain her vanity and pomp in the show. and she had 10 kids my god.

on a disturbing note it is said Mary was not beheaded with a single strike. The first blow missed her neck and struck the back of her head. The second blow severed the neck, except for a small bit of sinew, which the executioner cut through using the axe. Afterward, he held her head aloft and declared, "God save the Queen." At that moment, the auburn tresses in his hand turned out to be a wig and the head fell to the ground, revealing that Mary had very short, grey hair.A small dog owned by the queen, a Skye Terrier, is said to have been hiding among her skirts, unseen by the spectators. Following the beheading, it refused to be parted from its owner's body and was covered in her blood, until it was forcibly taken away and washed.

Lol... I knew about the dog but not about the head falling from a wig😱. Is it bad that I think it.s kinda funny? Thank you for bringing a little darkness and reality to the comments. The majority of these comments are by over romanticized Reign fans. I liked Reign too (I LOVE Sebastian) but it was not based on many facts and the writers made it clear that although it was inspired by the real Mary, they took many creative liberties in creating it. ✨In any case, romanticized or not, I think it.s great that the Mary in Reign has inspired so many young girls to learn about the real Mary Steurt... (or was it Stewart?) and history. Although she made horrible decisions when it came to men, excluding Francis since that was arranged, she.s a much better role model than any of the vapid Kardashian sluts (except for the one who.s a real model) or pseudo celebrities of today. 🍸🍸🍸
@SwanQueenist
@SwanQueenist 6 жыл бұрын
3martiniplaydate thank you for your reply, no I believe I found that a bit funny, Reign did Romantacize it and didn't put very many real facts but I believe if they did the show would have needed a higher rating, I don't normally like to bring darkness to the comments, but I believe it's better to have the knowledge that the way they showed Mary's execution was less gory then what happened to the real Mary, I'm sorry to anyone who didn't like my comment, but the real Mary Stuart had a harder life then portrayed, this is just one part of them. Yes Mary did make many bad decisions when it came to Men, excluding Francis, yes I do like how it inspires people to look up Mary Stuart and history because there they can discover just how hard her life must have been after Francis death, I knew quite a bit about Mary because I love searching up history before watching the show and I do find her to be more of a role model then the Kardashians, even when facing death Mary was a strong Woman. I believe people need a dose of reality once in a while, sorry for such a long comment, thank you again for your comment.🍸🙂

Mary is such a string person she’s seriously the only queen that I’ve ever been interest in, even at this year, 2019, many people still love her. that couple were angels, they deserved better:((((.

Here was a poem Mary Wrote for Francis. Just reading it you could see how much Mary Loved Francis. It’s Really sad In my sad, quiet song, A melancholy air, I shall look deep and long At loss beyond compare, And with bitter tears, I'll pass my best years. Have the harsh fates ere now Let such a grief be felt, Has a more cruel blow Been by Dame Fortune dealt Than, O my heart and eyes! I see where his bier lies? In my springtime's gladness And flower of my young heart, I feel the deepest sadness Of the most grievous hurt. Nothing now my heart can fire But regret and desire. He who was my dearest Already is my plight The day that shone the clearest For me is darkest night There's nothing now so fine That I need make it mine. Deep in my eyes and heart A portrait has its place Which shows the world my hurt In the pallor of my face. Pale as when violets fade True love's becoming shade. In my unwonted pain I can no more be still, Rising time and again To drive away my ill. All things good and bad Have lost the taste they had. And thus I always stay Whether in wood or meadow, Whether at dawn of day Or at the evening shadow. My heart feels ceaselessly Grief for his loss to me. Sometimes in such a place His image comes to me. The sweet smile on his face Up in a cloud I see. Then sudden in the mere I see his funeral bier. When I lie quietly Sleeping upon my couch, I hear him speak to me And I can feel his touch. In my duties each day He is near me alway. Nothing seems fine to me Unless he is therein. My heart will not agree Unless he is within. I lack all perfection In my cruel dejection I shall cease my song now, My sad lament shall end. Whose burden aye shall show True love can not pretend And, though we are apart, Grows no less in my heart.

If you really want to be a BIG girl you need to read historical biographies by REAL historians like John Guy, Eric Ives, Simon Schama, Antonia Fraser and NOT people like Philippa Gregory. SHE writes historical fiction and doesn't even have a degree in history. These posts tell me no one posting really reads anything. And by the way I read historical biographies like that because they ARE true and exciting they don't have to be dry like a history book. BUT AT LEAST YOU GET THE CORRECT INFORMATION AND NOT CRAP LIKE REIGN AND CALL IT REAL HISTORY AND FUCKING QUOTE IT LIKE IT IS.

I saw a documentary by the Discovery channel. Her physicans described her as hysterical, and ever couple of years, she'd become sick with the same symptoms, and within that time was extremely irrational and hysterical. She's the six greats grandmother of George the III, Queen Victoria's grandfather, I believe, and he was called Mad King George. It's a hereditary disease. James VI was described as being the same as his mother, and all three, James VI, George III, and Mary Stuart's physicians said there was blood in their urine, and since Porphyria wasn't a diagnosable thing back then, they often over looked that symptom.

With your wonderful knowledge of history can we expect something on ancient and medieval Irish history on the lines of 'Reign vs. History' narrated in the same gripping style?

Hmm, I'm not quite sure exactly what you mean? Irish history? I don't think I will do any other facts videos than Mary Stuart, but thank you for your kind words! :)

maryxstuart Maybe you can do Catherine Medici facts vs. Reign. The Medicis women were fierce. Catherine alone will keep you busy. Then maybe go on to do Queen Elizabeth facts vs. Reign. I know you love Mary but what you have here is a platform to encourage learning about amazing women in history who were up against the constraints of their male dominated times. Inspire girls to find role models in history as opposed to finding them in today.s cesspool of crap. 🍸🍸🍸

and if anyone's interested on the life of mary's son, well, he during his reign had a strong belief for the occult too and even incited the massive witch hunt that happened in history and also published his own book about the occult and witches in general. now that is very interesting. scotland itself is known for a lot of happenings related to the occult. it all so very interesting. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nahid8hy36mmmWg.html the link to the video that talks all about it.

Yes this facts are correcst, Mary was two year older than F,rancis, she lived till 47 when she was decapitated?? she Wed 3 times & only had one son, called James Who was adopted by Elizabetf & become, King James 1, at Elizabeth death. I think Mary spend 18 or 20 years in Prison???? The series was beautiful just like we would have love them to be, it was so romantic, except when Fracis died??? I would not have like to live in thoses days, looking over your shoulders constantly??? but like I say before, when you look, the English Royal Family, they have not changed much at all??????

2:09 It's not Frary related but I just realized that during that particular scene, I watched the wedding(Elisabeth and Phillip II) of the king who's name was use to name our country for the reason of "Honoring him" due to their successful colonization of our land, and I don't know what to feel as much as I wanted to hate them for making our country suffer I can't do that since I'm a descendant of Spaniards as well.

she should have run away to france instead of England but after the death of francis the queen Catherine de medicis did not like her.there would be big trouble after between the guise and the valois with her cousin the duke of guise assassinated and the guise in turn assassinating henry 111 of france thus ending the valois dynasty

Maura Quish well don’t watch the video then. I’m only trying to make people happy because the show we all love, Reign, ended. This is facts from a book I’ve read, blended in with scenes from Reign who portays those characters. Reign isn’t historical accurate, we all know that, but that’s why I made this video, so people can learn about what happened in real life, 500 years ago.

LoL its real facts from historical books, and the show well it’s a “show” it doesnt need to obliged to every single detail which we wouldnt even find a perfect “mary” if we’re prioritize the visuals more than the emotions portrayed. + the royals are well-kept and groomed in that age what else are the workers for 🤦🏻‍♀️ they prep the royals every morning lmao
