After thousands of hours on me3, and only 550 on andromeda, I will say I like uncharted better but this one was damn fun to fly around to, and andromedas black hole system looked amazing.

imWarden Looks like for some reason people who make these think it's better when it's subtler, or more silent. Boruto's another example. Music is equally great as Naruto, but it's quieter. Back when playing Mass Effect or watching Naruto I think everyone preferred the great soundtracks to be loud and clear, and it worked. Better than the quiet music. This is a new trend I think.

Original post is thoughtful and accurate. As to a couple of the replies.. it is hardly loserly to have standards and demand increasingly underdeveloped games be complete on release. Attitudes like the ones in those replies are the reason AAA gaming is in decline. In my day we called people like this shills. We still should. That said ME:A was decent enough once they finished it.

seriously I just start playing the game, I was a big mass effect fan played 1-3 countless hour. when ME:A came out I was so sad my old ass pc cant run the game, now I bought a new pc I finally can try it. at first I was little worry the game is very bad as I watch the review on youtube. but then I played it for 2 days. I can tell u those review r full of shit, I never really experience any glitch they all fixed by now. a side from mediocre story line, I really dont see what so bad about the game. Its actually an up to date version of mass effect mixed in with very good graphic and improved build/skill system along with much better exploration. thats why I dont give a shit about youtube review nowadays, 90% of them r nothing but idiot going with the flow and trying to clickbait for views.

Andromeda didn't feel like a waste of time. The combat & exploration was good, the strength of the game being its closeness to ME1. But its a shadow of the greatness of the first two games.

It's not a bad GAME, it's just not a good Mass Effect game. If it didn't have that label it would have been received to fair reviews and people would have considered it a 'hidden gem'. Unfortunately they just failed to live up to the original trilogy, then when the criticism came they gave up on it rather than try to ameliorate the issues. They also had their most interesting story elements left unchecked that they would have explored more through DLC probably, like the Cerberus agent, the real story of the main antagonist race, Ryder's mother and the Quarian arrival. All just left out to dry, when exploring these elements could have made it a better game. Unfortunately we got a game in which I can't even remember the name of the aforementioned 'main antagonist race.'

​@@laujack24 Because nothing really fits together. They open a dozen of subplots and none of them gets concluded. Exploration and viability of planets are meaningless. It just doesn't matter if you do it or not. The combat system feels sabotaged, as experimenting with abilities is also pretty pointless; the same combo works against any enemy, and switching sets gets discouraged by cool down timers. In practice, you use the same three abilities in a row over and over again.

Although this theme grew on me over time, just because you have part of an old classic in your song doesn’t make it good or automatically recapture the same magic that original track did. Though this track is not horrible I still stand by in saying that it still does not capture that same magic. Good game or not.

@ Andrea Bruni Probably a lot of residual loathing for the Hindenburg of an ending they bolted onto ME3. I think it's a fun, visually appealing and well crafted game, though it rather lacks the same character development of the original trilogy, and the Frostbite engine gave them some trouble on some machines (mine was not one of them). On the other hand, they left themselves a lot of room to grow, considering they still have way over 90% of a galaxy to explore, but no relay gates to zip from one side to the other! I hope the next installment - reportedly in development (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aqqoatln0eDVomQ.html) - doesn't crater.

It's not the problem that they are comparing to the old trilogy but that game failed to deliver a product that it was supposed to be. Prety much everything except the music is a failure.

thats not bad thing by default. but every new start has to compete with the progenitor and what it set up. its the same with spinoff series on tv. if you like navyCIS because of the chrackters and the interplay, then you might be disappointed by navycis new orleans. iam personally disappointed by the game. its not that i find it bad. its more like... if i compared every part of andromeda against each other me game , the trilogy wins in 9 out of 10 points. and as someone, that loved me 1-3 for what it was, i was hoping that andromeda would be ME4, but its a soft reboot from another team, its diefferent mass effect, and i liked the one before way more. if people enjoy the new one as well or even more, thats awesome, more power to you, but i gotta say, for me people like me, its a slap in the face with the message "go look somewhere else, youre not the clientel anymore" and to be honest, that hurts a bit

Remaster seems to have finally been officially announced. So looking forward to it!

ME1 vives for sure. ME2 was all dark Cyberpunk themed space opera. ME 1 was the best bight future feeling game. just the fact that you could land the mako on so many exotic worlds. Shame that Andromeda couldn't really made the worlds Procedural like NMS.

Matt B Same. It broke my heart to learn how much EA severely hindered and set back the development of Andromeda up until the last 18 months of development. If only Bioware actually managed to perform non-stop, unhindered development during the 5 years between ME3 and Andromeda... Just how many opportunities and ideas were lost because of EA's greed?

1 - main protagonists boring A.F. (the game became HighSchool Music). 2 - Dialogues boring A.F as well due to reason number 1. (another Teenager movie) 3 - Antagonists boring A.F (Borrowed from Disney;?? wtf). 4 - Generic Missions. (Repetitive + boring story = disaster). 5 - Story in general Boring A.F (in other mass effects, at least the mystery and illusive man itself made the game by themselves). 6 - Not a reason for me, but people consider this so, the facial graphics appear very bad. I don't know if you need to consider this, but since numerous people fall for it, is another reason.

Ezio New I loved it but I’ve never played the original trilogy so maybe I’m missing something? I liked it as deep space colonization standalone sci fi game even thoughi didn’t understand the lore their was nothing else you could compare it to for this gen console

@@gessnermatt I played the original trilogy three times but I always play the new games after any trilogy as something new that doesn't need comparison. Many games after their original trilogy become less successful as people keep comparing the old games with the new ones. Maybe Andromeda isn't as strong game as previous entries but that doesn't hold it back from being fun and great game.

i did as well, i didn't play andromeda till after it had been out like 6 months so it was patched. in some ways andromeda ended up being my favorite ME game

It's enjoyable if you can cut out most of the unecessary fat from this game that makes you feel burnout for players like me. If I played only the main story missions, alongside the planetary stories, and the loyalty missions, then I can stomach playing the game. The mundane side tasks, like collecting materials, exploring every corner of the maps, and the inconsequential side quests to me, can all be ignored completely without losing focus on the important aspects of the game.
