Nice analysis! A "many worlds interpretation" plot might mean that not only every ending is canon, but that every decision made from every different Shepard is simultaneously canon and non canon, depending on the universe. What you experience is just one of the many possibilities. Maybe there's an universe where the Reapers were defeated early because the Council chose to believe Shepard instead of being obstructive bureaucrats at every turn. That would be kind of funny.

One thing I never see KZfaqrs taking into account is the fact that FTL comm signals can take decades to travel across the galaxy without the use of the mass relays and we're most likely hearing OLD signals from the Reaper War hitting the galactic fringes long after the fact. This is most likely misdirection from BioWare to keep all but the most hardcore fans guessing. Thank you for noticing and covering this fact.

Voices 4 & 5 are the Kett. It sounds identical to them & even what they say sort of makes sence. "They do match" meaning(the species here match them that turned up in Andromeda) & "Upon an unknown horizon" possibly meaning(they are coming towards our galaxy) which would be an Unknown horizon.

For folks my age Richard Feynman was the guy that gracefully displayed why the Challenger space shuttle exploded. It was quite a traumatic event as I watched it live on tv in my 2nd grade elementary school class. Hmmm. 🤔 Two famous space ships that met violent and shockingly untimely ends 🤔

I really do want Shepard to return. If he/she does, then all of my play throughs would have meant something. 😊 And that makes me happy.

I agree the wrinkles don't mean that Liara has gotten a lot older. When you look at Benezia, Samara, and Aethyta, all of them are matriarchs and they don't have those wrinkles. Also, when doing the crash site mission, you can find your old helmet and you take it back to your cabin. Also, during Project Lazarus, they say that the helmet helped keep his brain intact or something like that. So when Liara found Shepard's body to give to Cerberus, did she leave the helmet? And if she did, you can find the same helmet on Alchera during the memorial mission. With all of that, I find it very hard to believe that that is Shepard's helmet. If it were, it would be on Earth or on the Citadel. The helmet is the most confusing part to me.

What if in the parallel universe Liara took Alec's offer (and that's him in the background) and went to Andromeda so never met with Shepard. Also there would be two Liara on the Mudskipper. 😂 The parallel universe's Shepard can feel like cloneShep. In the case of Perfect Destroy there would be two Shepard. But why would they look for the other if they have the original? 🤨 The main storyline have to be the same for everyone. Will they find the otherShep accidentally while investigating the aftermath of the Crucible beam?

I'm skeptical about the planet being Alchera just because of the Sky used for the planet, The Planet of Alchera is located in the Omega Nebula which is in the Terminus Systems on the other side of the Milky Way so there is no way you'd be able to see anything relating to the SOL system from Alchera with the naked eye.

15:20 I hear "a hidden probe in there" like someone is picking up a signal from something strange or somewhere strange. 16:06 im hearing "hands off the beacon" like someone is messing with something they dont understand. 16:13 I hear "your doomed now, Jacob" like a character just did something that will get them killed or their talking to themselves.

You have a really unique breakdown style that really stands out from all the rest, the editing is stellar on top of that, great presentation visually and in the way you kept info tidy and easier to track to make it inclusive to people of all education levels of the franchise as you can for stuff like this. This is some great sleuthing! Feynman is known for path integration in quantum mechanics, sometimes called many paths interpretation. Basically, the path of a particle to its final destination is related to all possible paths to get there. Good video Im in the middle of my second trillogy replay and i finished 2s main story yeasterday and something i noticed during the replay was that even back in Me1 they where setting the seeds for Protheans surviving to the present. So there could defnetley be something to the theory that the Jardaan are Prothean I can totaly see some Protheans getting together and forming their own version of the Andromeda Initiative.

I like to think Mike Gamble is sitting in his office watching all these videos and being yeah they’re close 🤣🤣 Update so this probably nothing but I have the same thumbnail you used as my desktop backdrop just without the words so if you look kind of below Lara’s chin, you can see that they’re on a plateau that’s pretty high up because there is cloud cover, but it could be fog too, but it looks like they’re pretty high up in the mountains or on a plateau just a curious observation

If Shepard is coming back. the Helmet piece might have enough residue to make a clone. But instead of the "crude clone" from the Citadel DLC perhaps they found away recreate and upload memories and reconstruct a personality. And the 2nd question is why. Why do they need Shepard again. It will have to be something that's at least as threating as the Reapers to justify bringing back a soldier like that from the dead.

Hear me out @Paragon7. My biggest problems with this explanation are for one that Alchera is halfway across the galaxy from Earth so there is NO WAY you gonna see the Local Cluster in the sky like that, but frankly it is detail so maybe just don't refer to this nebula/cluster as LC? But mostly I'm hoping that this explanation is wrong because both backwards time travel and parallel worlds is gonna completely destroy the original Mass Effect lore which was already stretched enough by the Andromeda and do we really want to pay this price for the Shepard's return? I have another idea, what if this teaser is not to be taken literally, what if it's symbolic, acknowledging the many different endings of ME3 and maybe saying they are gonna make it up for the sacrifice of those who chose the non-surviveable endings of ME3? Because the parallel universe Shepard is just as problematic as Shepard clone. It is NOT the Shepard we know in ME2 and 3 and that is a big problem, for all we know (ahem ahem Invincible) parallel Shepard might even be outright evil.

From what I hear, the lines around 15:13 are 1: Emmiting probe in a- (cut off) 2: anomaly readings all across ___ space (I believe the blank is geth due to being around the same length of the outage) 3: it's like a heart 4: they do match 5: we couldn't've known out at Horizon (imagine its maleshep saying it but distorted, it sounds a lot more similar) From these, we can assume this could be they find something going on in geth space after the geth being upgraded but considering they call it an anomaly cus Shepard chose destroy, Third is basically describing what upgrades happened to the geth, and fourth confirming the similarities the readings, Lastly is the hardest to hear to me but it absolutely sounds like Horizon to me, and considering Me2 and 3 both had important events happen at horizon that had Shepard involvement, so I assume that the geth went to Horizon after the war so they could research or survey what happened and their significance

I don't think the planet is Alchera, nor is the gas giant specifically about Feynman. There is a very large (too large) celestial body in the upper right of the frame when the camera cuts to the Mudskipper in the background. The relative size and position makes me feel like where the crew is has to be the moon of that much larger planet, which precludes the... spotty logic of the lines about methane (its probably a statement on technology, not physiology). The approaching shot also shows the Mudskipper veering to the right, to that closest moon. There's some.. sciencey gobbledeegook about freezing temps of methane and water ice and snow and stuff, but I doubt the ME artists went that deep. This is probably a different place, which might explain why even though the suit Shepard has on in the Collector attack doesn't actually have an N7 logo on the helmet, the debris in the trailer does (assuming its canon they find their spare on the ground in 2). The disc at the start is also more reminiscent to a protoplanetary disc (because of shape, color, waviness, ring characteristics, debris shadows, etc), rather than a megastructure, which are generally found inside stellar nurseries (younger nebulas) where star formation is frequent. This represents a very young system. The interesting thing about the Dumbell nebula too, is that it sits between the Perseus... and Andromeda constellations. You might guess why we call the galaxy that. But in the trailer, the nebula shown is distinctly on the opposite side of the Milky Way from Andromeda, so its unclear if that's intentional or not. Feynman has 24 moons and a yellow star in the games, and I feel if it was a specific reference to a specific place, they'd have correlated that. Additionally, terrestrial planets can have thick gas/cloud layers, ie Venus, so it doesn't necessarily *have* to be a gas giant. The musical flourish here is somewhat similar to the Mass Effect 1 level up noise (and another one I vaguely remember and cannot find, I think it has something to do with finishing quests), just much more grandiose, and it almost tricks me into thinking the lone planet with its two moons is a visual symbolism for Shepard and your party members on a mission, alone against the galaxy (in ME1). Humans were considered troublemakers, aggravators, and upstarts before the end of the game. When all is said and done, I think most of this trailer is a sort of visual/audio recounting metaphor of humanity's galactic-level history, with the audio of early space exploration (there's definitely NASA radio squawks in there) tying into the proto-p disc representing their "birth" on the galactic stage with the First Contact War, moving into the induction of humanity onto the Council in ME1 (partners to the galaxy), then the launch of the Ark and the fast flying asteroid field (Omega) representing ME2, immediately followed by the Reaper war debris in ME3, and then its aftermath. The panning to Local Cluster represents the end of Shepard, where that story (may or may not have) died. The layered voices are much harder to interpret, but it is my belief they recount the various events of Andromeda. I hear Voice 1 as SAM saying "probe away" despite him never actually doing that in the game, with the other voices referring to events there (anomalies being the Scourge, finding the Vault as the "heart", matching DNA shenanigans of the Kett, and then the resolution at the end to expand out from the cluster). So we get an artistic representation of the entire human history in Mass Effect, to what end? Genuinely, not sure. I'm pretty confident that snowy surface is not Alchera, and the visibility of the local cluster in the mission from 15 years ago was not a planned reference, but something to make the sky more interesting. Especially considering Alchera is in the Omega nebula and seeing all the way to Local should be.. difficult. But perhaps the the secret is deceptively simple, just that 5 will tie in both the Shepard saga and the Andromeda Initiative together. It seems pretty clear that "Destroy" is the canon ending, considering the Reapers are dead and there's no glowy green circuits in asari skin. So there's that chance Shepard is alive anyway- and traces of Shepard are being tracked down. The real question to answer is why? I'm kind of biased against a multiverse story, just because of "culture fatigue" as it were- seeing the Relay surveillance teaser (I have issues with that analysis as well, tbh) makes me hope that some kind of attempt is being made at restoring/unlocking the intergalactic relay capabilities of the Citadel (which would help with the tie in to Andromeda, maybe the Milky Way residents are in fact the Jaardan?) and that's why humans need to build these relay sites, for testing and research of dark energy tech.

If we're going with multiversal theory, then it's possible the Geth megastructure could be used as a massive super computer in order to make the calculations necessary to open an Einstein Rosen Bridge through space and time using a massive blackhole. Maybe the story of the next mass effect is going to be about finding a way to bring back Shepard and not being brought back as Shepard.

So about the relay we see , it might be a very simple explanation of that's the state of the relays all across the galaxy after the crucible discharged through them. Specially when the audio that matches is the loss of contact, as you pointed out, probably due to the comm buoy not being operational anymore due to the damaged relays. The 6th ark leaving if we take into account the parallel universe theory might be that in that universe there were 6 arks ? Though to be fair since I saw previous videos about this I have in mind that it was probably an Ark from our universe with either other races or maybe some VIP who didn't want to travel with the rest, something like that. As for recovering Shepard all you explained makes a lot of sense, the only thing that has me wondering is why we would need to recover Shepard's body if they are still alive in the perfect destruct. Edit : I almost forgot regarding Liara potentially looking older, the Me trilogy spans only 2/3 years however many characters in it age visibly and rapidly, look at Dr Chakwas who has white hair in 3 when it was pitch black in 2. Or Conrad Werner he too has gray hair. Could be to give visual clues of time passing or to reference the hardship people went through or both. Or jumping to a parallel universe could make you age for all we know

The Geth stuff can also be used to tie Andromeda to the story. Because in the beginning of ME:A they state that they were able to scan the Andromeda galaxy using some new prototype array the Geth made which allowed them to see the the 3 million light year distance in real time and chart out the habitat worlds in advance before they left the Milky Way.

Zero oxygen on Mars wasn't a barrier for humans either, that doesn't mean we dont need it. It just means the Asari found some way to cope with the methane and the cold temperature, with suits and life support. Anyways, great video!

I guess I'd also argue that the idea that Liara caresses the N7 helmet piece because she knows WHO the helmet belongs to is something I'm still not sure is a 100% given; it's equally plausible that instead, we see Liara having a very sentimental moment over the helmet insignia because she knew an N7 once that she was fond of. Obviously, we're all just theorycrafting over What Does It Mean, Actually? so who knows, but :D

Although I find the many worlds theory interesting and honestly a very good way of including everyone’s shep into canon I really hope he’s not in me4 in any way other than memories or memorials. I love shep and played both fem and male in every game multiple times, so I’m ready for a new mc to carry (hopefully) the next trilogy forward.

This is an extremely good analysis, just watched this with my dad after he finished his playthru of the trilogy. There was couple things we noticed tho with the helmet and the mass relay with the debris field. With you saying how it shouldn’t be possible for Liara to find Shepard’s helmet in this reality since it’s likely collected in the other game. But when you pointed out what piece of the helmet it was I booted up my Me2 save and checked the collectible helmet in my room and it’s actually MISSING the insignia on both sides likely from damage. Making it so it is possible for Liara to find that specific piece of the helmet. And we also were wondering about a possibility for that mass relay with the debris field. Could it be the relay you smash in me2 that took out the bartarian system? Id imagine that sorta explosion may cause a lot of rubble. Again this is an amazing video and I’m really excited to see what happens next for this series

I wonder if the Inactive Mass Relay could be a reference to the Raloi? Maybe they were able to survive by nuking the relay they found in their neck of the woods to avoid the Reaper War? Though it could also just be their way of telling us that Destroy is canon. Voice three from Layered Voices is the only one I disagree on, the only thing I hear is "I'm fine". I understand the many worlds theory, and I see how it fits, but I also think that its such a huge can of worms to open that I don't know that they would do it. On the parallel normandy crash site, how would Liara know it's the right KIND of Shepard? (male/female, paragon/renegade, origin differences, etc) And if our Liara is able to jump between worlds, wouldn't there be others? How many blueberries can we handle? Could the Liara we see BE from a different world? I also want to throw this out there, though it may be uncouth; potential future ME competitor Exodus, made by former BW employees, are making a game with time dilation as a crucial feature to the plot. We know that gravity effects the passage of time, so the hints of the black holes, quantum mechanics, etc may lead to time dilation as well

The very beginning of the trailer where there is inaudible dialogue, I may be just guessing but it sounds like it says Ark 3? is go for launch, and then Ark 2 is go for launch? And then it sounds like a sound clip from the Apollo 11 launch, "Yes indeed they got the flag up now you can see it from orbit" and then it says, "Beautiful, just beautiful" which was said by Michael Collins that was the command module pilot for the moon landing.

I was trying to find the legal definition of it but there is a term for when so much circumstantial evidence starts to prove or disprove a theory simply on the amount of it pointing in a direction or painting a picture. Just like in this case. You now have me convinced that they will try to find a Sheppard alive or dead in another universe and bring him back here. I’m not sure how, why, or the logistics of it but your theory disproves a lot of my explanations otherwise outside of a lazy writing explanation which doesn’t match the types of people working on mass effect. I’m concerned the 4th voice in the break down might be the new antagonist. I’m almost certain that who ever we face in the next game will likely be a form or variation of synthetic. I was talking with javic in me3 and he said that in his time the synthetic race hacked the people of a planet through implants they had surgically placed within them to increase their ability to handle the climate conditions and fix their planet. Synthetic race was even able to alter their genetics and mines essentially giving the synthetic race brand new genetic bodies that they could change on a DNA level. What if this new enemy has a version of that capability as we saw with the angara in andromeda?

You know, having Shepard be back but have no memory of the war *would* be a good reason to have a tonne of exposition to explain the version of the galaxy's history we'll get. Also, if they are opening gateways to parallel worlds they're definitely going to end up bringing something biiiiig and baaaaad back with them.

I would've thought the figures in the background of Liara would've been a Salarian and human, yes, but that third a Turian. Body seems slimmer than a Krogan.

I would find it weird if the next game addressed what happened to the Quarian ark. It was meant to be DLC for Andromeda, but once the game tanked and all support for it was put on ice, the plot point was instead solved in a book. The Mass Effect team doesn't have a habit of retelling the same story in different ways, so since the plot point has already been resolved for the most part in official media, i find it highly unlikely that MENext will touch on anything beyond what happened AFTER the ark rejoins the rest of the initiative past the end of MEA.

I really like the parallel world theory but I'm not getting my hopes up too high in case that's not what happens in the next Mass effect game. For me the real question is why go through the trouble to recover Shepard (again maybe in a parallel world with some of tempest crew possibly) granted Liara has a relationship to Shepard and Shepard is a safe way to win back fans for success for the new mass effect game and for more merch potential but story wise why? What's so important that's too important to the point of getting Shepard? And what about the mysterious N7? I get it we don't have information much as of right now but still.

Maybe it's like a prequel or flashback showing when Liara finally found shepherds dead body.

The parallel universe theory actually makes a lot of sense from a meta perspective if you consider when the trailer came out. Nowadays every franchise is doing the multiverse but a couple years back that was the fresh new thing. Mass Effect has always been pretty ahead of its time and rightfully predicting the multiverse trend would be on brand for them.

Wow. Big stuff. What a way to get around the many endings while acknowledging them. Who knows if liara is even the liara from prime galaxy. Story allows freezing for continuity though. Really cool.

The Mass relay in the debri field, maybe was the Batarian relay that got destroyed. It was supposed to be the relay that the reaperas were meant to use to :arrive.
