Hmm. i think the point is that technocrats with the help of bureaucrats use whoever has titular power. So Trump, Biden, Macron, BoJo all played the willing dupes under their spell. The masses followed.

does it? Bc they think the exact opposite is true. Theres 1 common thread throughout all despotic takeovers, its really hard to see and even harder to believe and accept, thats why it repeats over and over and over.
