Boston & Maine caboose move to Cape Cod (Mass Coastal Railroad)

On November 29, 2021 privately owned caboose began it's journey to Cape Cod on the Mass Coastal Railroad. The trip started on the Old Colony & Newport Railway in Middletown, RI and was trucked to Wharf Yard in Fall River, MA. There it was put on live rail and reassembled for the trip to Cape Cod, MA.
On December 6, 2021 the car made the final leg of the journey between Rochester, MA and Hyannis, MA. This video shows the train along the route and the arrival at Hyannis.

When I was living at Fort Devens the train used to the Ayer yard to go to Worcester. And I have not seen a caboose since 1986. I think that was the last time. I there was ever one. it's nice to see. The Mass Coastal running in the old B&M colors and still running on the old New Haven Tracks. I can only imagine. If New Haven had merged with Norfolk and Western along with New York Central. In 1958 and the New Haven would win its independence. As a new railroad. After expansion and construction of linking of branch lines together for the new railroad. Of the New Haven and New York Central too.

I lived in Upstate New York and I remember the D&H and Boston and Maine yards in Mechanicville and I watched the Boston and Maine and I love this paint scheme and the green Burlington Northern and the blue of the Delaware and Hudson. Those were such active days in Upstate New York and Mechanicville there were trains on the Boston and maine line going over the bridge over the Hudson River. Oftentimes I would drive underneath the trestle and there would be trains one in each direction slowly rolling out of the yard and into the yard It's nice to see this caboose was saved

I saw this today, 12/7/21 at the Yard in Hyannis. I am attending a Class at the Double Tree Hotel, right next door and that Snow Plow too. WOW

I grew up watching B&M go by end of Dwight street. The blue cars were it's signature. Seeing full trains of them was always great. Heck seeing steam engines was common along with rail cars on the way to bean town. After moving to Flagstaff Arizona I didn't quite grasp why they were not going by. Instead they were the red and silver passenger train or the blue and yellow freight of Santa Fe. Those traditional blue B&M were a very rare sight out west. But I always would watch every freight for at least one.

Always wonderful to see preserved vintage railroad equipment. Not just that B&M caboose but also the "working museum displays" like that rare Mass Coastal GP28, which was never a popular locomotive in EMD's catalog (only 16 were built for U.S. railroads). Question: What is the reason for putting the caboose between the locomotives for this trip? This means the two locomotives couldn't be run in MU configuration and the trailing loco has to be dead-in-tow right?

One mistake in this video Rail Road Ave is not Buzzards Bay. Very close to the line it is in Onset.

Is the caboose going to be a display piece or will it see any more live rail? It would be kinda cool if they put it on the dinner/excursion trains.

In some instances rough ride depended on the engineman. Roadbed was a given.
