Seeing the old te 20's brings back many memories. I was allowed to operate the tractor in the citrus orchard when I could perch my butt on the edge of the seat and push the clutch pedal to the floor, 8 years old. I was discing the weeds up the rows and across the rows with a 7ft trailing off set discs!!! Thought I was fabulous. I lived for the weekends and holidays so I could drive the tractor. Got my road driving license 7 days after my 15 birthday> Great time in NZ The old " Driving by the seat of your pants" has long gone I reckon, along with being out in all weathers!! Retired now at 68 but still watch and dream about the old machinery. I reckon I would not be able to drive those new machines with the joy stick and GPS steering.

Great to see the 35s and remember how versatile and manouverable they were compared to today's monsters. Easy access and all round visibility, they were so good to drive. A pity about the soggy seat when you got off to open a gate in the rain though!👍

Another great video. I learnt to drive on a little grey fergie when I was 12. Easy to drive and was driving it solo when I was 13 doing all sorts of farm jobs. Remembering to change from petrol to tvos caught me out a few times when I started to drive. Oh what memories.

Small farm operator here, I had a Massey Harris 44 gas row-crop, Massey Ferguson 165 diesel , 1 Massey Harris 50 utility gas, 1 Massey Ferguson 50 high clearance gas . Massey Ferguson 3 point hay rake, Ferguson cultivator, Massey Ferguson 2 row 3 point corn planter, 12 and 14 “ 2 bottom mold board plows. I still stand behind Ferguson farm equipment for quality and ease of operation and usefulness in small acerage.

Another great video thanks. A fantastic selection of Massey Ferguson / Massey Harris doing a wide range of jobs. I have a 1970 135. It was built into a sugar beet harvester many years ago before being converted back to a tractor so I dont think its had a hard life

This is an amazing video to watch. I am in love with MASSEY since my childhood, started with MASSEY 135 in 80s. I drove our brand new MASSEY 240 at 9 after 135. I salute a genius MASSEY HARRIS and his I.Q. I want to see MASSEY COMPANY alive again till end of this universe. I am thankful to you to show us amazing childhood memories and lots of love from PAKISTAN a MASSEY LOVING COUNTRY.

When I get comments about how young people were when they first drove a tractor it always takes me back to some of my first tractor driving experiences. I can remember steering an Allis B before I was big enough to reach the clutch, whilst my Dad and Grandad forked fodder beet into a trailer. I'm guessing I would have been a similar age to you driving the TEF.

Excellent footage, loved it all, only one little point, why do "some plough men" keep adjusting their plough while doing the job? If they set up the plough on level ground before starting, they would find that it would all work out fine! I used to plough with a MF65 mk2 on the Mendip Hills, south of Bristol UK, lovely job but poor money back then. Good to see so many old Tractors being used. Wonderful. Thank You for your Video. 😁

I own Massey Ferguson FE35X 1965 model. My father bought in 1971 to the farm we had. I’ve started driving it from day one in a age of 9. I own it today, still driving it. I’ve been cleaning snow with it for 53 years now. I’ve never had any issues, it never ever turned me down. NEVER touch the engine exept oil change, valve adjustment. The injectors have been overhauled twice. I’ve replaced the clutch plate when i split it once, it was because of an oil leak, but it was the oil,pan gasket that was leaking 🤪.. I’ve could had saved me the operation if i had did some research before i start dismantling the tractor. I am pretty sure the tractor will survive me.

Interesting about the clutch getting oil on it. I was told that the rear crankshaft oil seal was made of felt, which should have had a rubber oil seal. But, that was on some of the early ones! I don't know if that was changed on the latter modules? But the Perkins 3 cylinder engines are brilliant. I have always loved the MF 35-X, and the MF-65-MK2s.
@onlywatching6504
@onlywatching6504 Күн бұрын
@@truethought369 No the clutch didn’t get oil on it. It was the sumpgasket that leaked, and i split it because i thought it was the rear crank seal. And i changed is as well when i first did the stretch of splitting it. I replaced the clutch plate too for the same reason..
@onlywatching6504
@onlywatching6504 Күн бұрын
@@truethought369 …and the seal on the rearend of the crankshaft is a «rope seal». It’s important that the seal is oiled up before it’s installed. I think it has to be submerged in fresh engine oil «over night». And NEVER cut it shorter …
@truethought369
@truethought369 Күн бұрын
@@onlywatching6504 Thank You for getting back to me, the reason I thought it was the rope seal, was a friend who had a bad leak from a rope seal and he changed it to the new type. Personally, I think the new type of seal and holder, would be a better than the old ones. I admit I don't know how long his rope seal had been in service? I hope you get many years of service now your 152 is back together.
