Massive Donkey Pollock !! Wreck Fishing For Big Fish in the English Channel Using Sidewinder Lures.

The pollock fishing was quite special with a few monsters of the deep hitting the Sidewinder lures giving a great fight from 75m deep. I tried using slow jigs but they were not working due to the massive tides, The pollock were feeding on small bait fish so small lures was the way to go.
Gadget (Boat) was in her element cruising comfortably out to 35 miles and the weather improved as the day went on. I hope you enjoy this little snippet of fishing offshore in the south coast of Devon.

Nice video - my old stomping grounds. As regards the pollack, they wont survive if you put them back in that depth of water. They suffer from barotrauma and blow their swim bladders. The ones you put back are feed for sharks. Best either keep them for the table or target something else.

Yes the drop off to the south of berry head is where i head to and past because of the depth. 60-70m Come july when the bass start showing in better numbers i will head north to the 3 in a row or to the shallow bass wrecks

Great video Dave, interesting to see your drift rig. I've tended to use Portland rigs but quite like the simplicity of your one

Simple is always better. I do love the 3way swivel setups. But this type of fishing with heavy gear isnt really my bag. The rod was setup for turbo fishing and all i did was whack a lure on the end. Nothing special
