almost 3 hours for regular maintenance weekly washes, thats including setting up and cleaning my detailing tools

16 hrs on a trashed paint on a p/u truck ! wet sanding and 2 step correction, plus fuso 99 applied, coating was out of budget lol! ;-)

It’s nice to see the “shop manager” getting personally involved in the job by inspecting what you’re using and making sure it’s done correctly. A little hands-on by “management” is always good for the moral of employees. Of course a little kibble or other treat is always appreciated. 😀

I wish I would have had PPF put on my widebody charger hellcat. What they don't tell you about driving expensive cars is that you are CONSTANTLY worried about rock chips. It almost takes all the fun out of driving the vehicle. Especially in PA where they use cinders in the winter along with salt. So when the tiny rocks chip your paint the salt has something to cling to.

Brian, thanks for all the great videos. I am a hobbyist just doing my personal vehicles. I got a Maxshine M8, some uro fiber 50/50 pads, and a bottle of 3D One. I got to work, but it seemed like I wasn't making much progress. It was taking at least 4-6 passes to get it where I was happy. Then I realized, you're often using a 15mm, and usually a 21mm throw which does more "work" than an 8mm. I thought it might make an interesting video to show the results when using the 3 different throws with the exact same pads, compounds and number of passes. Then maybe show how you'd need to change the aggressiveness of the pad and the compound to get the same results with the same number of passes. Maybe the 21mm uses 3D One and uro fiber 50/50 with 2 passes, then the 15mm needs something more aggressive to get the same results in just 2 passes and the 8mm something more aggressive still. Hope that makes sense and thanks again!

Excellent work and the amount of labor taking off parts for a seamless installation was eye opening. Your crew is starting to become confident and comfortable bulking PPF which is awesome. Hopefully you will get the Apex coating in stock soon because I need to coat the family truckster.

normally i spent 3 hrs with complete detail twice for a month I have 2 cars both are black and I don't use coating and protect film, for me still the car wax is the best but waxes are more expensive and coatings protect film.

I recently did a 1 Step correction on a 2020 Charger that was black and it was super soft. Seemed like if I breathed on it wrong it would marr! LOL

The Tarp on the floor controls moisture. There is a ton of water used to apply PPF. The Canopy above controls Contaminates down to dust particles.

Brian, I have a question for you about using ASP on PPF. I know some PPF manufacturers have specific ceramic coatings supposedly formulated to work with their films. If ASP is used in lieu of one of those will it create any challenges regarding removal of the PPF at a later date. Like will the ASP cause the PPF to become more rigid during curing and make removal more difficult?

No problems....as long as you stay in the 7 to 9H range. there is enough pliability.

I have no experience with films but…why can’t they come with the coating pre added? You could work with a ppf film company to pre apply the your coating at manufacturing. Apex ppf film!

You can actually polish them. Use a black application pad (non aggressive) and Angelwax Perfect Polish.

Yes....I walk the customer around the car with the gauge measuring each panel during the estimate process.

A rotary would have worked perfectly fine. I switch back and forth between polishers each day to keep things from getting stale...so to speak.

The gloss is not as high as a coating...but not far off at all.
