MASSIVE SNOWY GROUPER ON SLOW PITCH - How to Slow Pitch Jig Ep. 5
As the early morning tuna and mutton bite began to slow down it was time to switch gears and fish some deeper colder waters. We had the option to drop slow pitch jigs down or a durable bait such as goggle eyes or ballyhoo. We chose to drop an orange and yellow pencil shaped Ruck Jig that would get to the ocean floor as quickly as possible. On our second drift Emily hooked up to something large that ran hard and fast. She reeled and reeled waiting to see exactly what she had caught when all of a sudden her fish floated to the surface and we got see just how larger her fish was!!

I wish the best for the both of you and keep chasing your dreams.

Great video, when fighting a fish on slow pitch rod, a good rule of thumb is you can raise the rod to parallel to the water and even a little higher. Rod will only break if if you high stick it and fish is close to you or under the boat. Most people break rods by trying to swing the fish in the boat and lift the rod straight up

Your videos were the first time I had heard about Slow pitch jigging. I then watched a pile of videos on SPJ. Just picked up a mid-level starter setup from Johnny Jigs. Looking forward to getting out and trying it. I know that a power 1 is not common to your fishery. But will the Gale Force SPJ be available in a power 1 or 0 ? and I would absolutely want the Gale Force pink for my light power (micro jigging) SP rod.

Hi there :-) Got a quick question pls.. Im gonna rig up a trolling rod for aj. Ill be trolling in not more than 110 meters of sea and ambers should be roughly 20/25kg max. I got 400 meters of 50lbs braid. Would that be stong enough? And enough length? Or should i add more to that?

What do you typical tip the crew for a trip like this?
@GaleForceTwins
@GaleForceTwins 3 жыл бұрын
We always tip a minimum of 20% for all charter fishing whether it’s a head boat/drift boat, private trips, offshore, inshore or bridge fishing. Think of fishing as the service industry. If you tip a waitress 20% then tip your crew the same!
