We can finally reveal the transformation of the Marquis' sitting room in the chateau, which we've been working on for nearly a year, as Amaury has painstakingly created bespoke hardwood panelling, fit for a Renaissance chateau...

Congratulations on creating a stunning room! The hidden door is fabulous… I can visualize Stephanie wearing a historical gown nonchalantly leaning against the hidden door sipping a glass of wine and all of a sudden the door quietly opens, and Philip’s hand gently pulls Stephanie‘s arm and whisks her inside for a secret kiss! Absolute perfection. Amaury is a genius Master craftsman. Steph's ability to see how all the components work together to make a glorious whole is superb. Phillip's eye for detail, color, and proportion is stellar. All the team - Ian the plasterer, Grant flying in from Australia to help out, Jerry, Nattie keeping Amaury well fed and caffeinated, everyone has created a marvel of a room. Could not be more impressed. Hope you were all able to take a few days off to relax and recharge. You deserve to. Deepest thanks to all.

Amaury! Not only are you a soft spoken (and from what I can see) kind gentleman but you are seriously an amazingly skilled craftsman. What I can see is that this chateau has changed your life by finding you a life partner and a career with your family but YOU have changed the life of the chateau as well. The paneling is stunning - what an amazing job Amaury has done! And, of course, the wallpapering job (adore the paper, it's perfect) is pretty amazing too. Finally, the colour you eventually went with, as chosen by Phillip, for the over mantle, is absolutely spot on. Brilliant job by all of you, working together (which is the magic of Lalande and one of the things that keeps us watching all of you with such delight and inspiration). Lastly, but not least, how wonderful for you to finally see the Marquis' room as you dreamed it. You must be popping into the room at least 5 times a day to thrill yourself again with what you have created there. Well done!

I was seriously struck with awe when I witnessed Amaury's finished worksmanship. My throat tightened and my eyes filled with tears when I imagined the impossible scenario that you might not have adequate fire drills with fire extinguishers close by. You are all so gifted. There's this saying "They don't make 'em like they used to". Well there still ARE people who "make 'em like they used to" and Amaury is one of them. There still are craftsmen in many areas (be it woodworking or other specialties) who are still doing this high level of work, still caring about precision, and creating an end product that will last for many years to come. Amaury, your work is stunning and we all tip our hats to your expertise and wonderful craftsmanship! Well done, well done! The mantle is perfectly imperfect. Please don't change it. The dark green is wonderful. Your love for this home is so inspiring and so beautiful I often cry watching you all work so hard. You truly are "planting trees for the futures of people to enjoy shade " eventhough you may never see the full branches. To care for a historical home is never ownership. It is caregiving till the next family takes over. Phillip, well done, the papper and the paint was just right.

Incredible craftsmanship. This man's dedication to his carpentry is simply breathtaking. Without this skill being 'in the family' the cost would have been so prohibitive, it might never have been done in this room. And whatever you did agree, it was a bargain. I am in awe of you all, and the way you complement one another in getting the design and execution done so creatively, beautifully. Very well done. Once again, another gem.

Phillip is a brilliant decorator and has a great eye for symmetry! Amaury is a master woodworker and artisan! I want to say one thing: I wish that you decorate your own apartment next. I want a grand apartment "de la chatelaine" that you can leave behind as a signature. I know all the rooms have your signature, but I want you to be remembered in the same way the Marquis, bonne mamman and Roger are remembered. And also, I hope Amaury has his name written on the panelling somewhere. He did a splendid job and needs to be remembered for the amazing craftsman that he is

This room is over the top beautiful !!! It is stunning in all ways possible. BUT, the star of this magnificent creation is Amauri, he is the "Master" of this creation : so much work, so much precision, so much details, so many hours and patience required. So much finesse and precision in the installing all those panels to give this room a perfect and beautiful finish. What a legacy Amaury is creating throughout the chateau. It reminds me of tours where one reads of the craftsmen and artists who created masterpieces in castles and chateaus of old and how their work and name lives on through generations and centuries. Two of the grandchildren came by a month ago. They spent summers there and said it was not very livable then. They appeared to like all the changes. There were 11 children of the Marquis's generation and 30 grandchildren (if I am remembering what Stephanie said). Up in the attic area in that hallway they just cleaned up a month ago, there were cubicles, not rooms for extra beds when Stephanie first arrived. Remember that Stephanie put in lots of loos and showers in each bedroom also. She hid them in the thick walls and closets. 😘😘😘😘

One of the very best videos yet!! What a room! When you showed it at the end -- the slow pan of the walls -- I was struck at the perfect beauty of that wallpaper. Stunning. The wallpaper is almost like a statue, and Amaury's paneling is its pedestal. The wallpaper is a gorgeous painting, and his paneling is the fabulous frame. Wow! What an incredible result! This is enjoyable to see but also an encouragement as I watched yet another beautiful old building in my hometown being stripped of all its detail. It feels like a comparatively silly thing to be sad over but it breaks my heart so it’s an encouragement to me to be reminded that there are people out there who are restoring historic architecture, not destroying it. Amaury is truly an artist with everything he does!! Absolutely stunning work. What a legacy he is leaving behind for future generations. Hope he left his signature behind on the back of one of those panels. What a God given talent he has❤

I literally gasped. Such beautiful work. Amouree has found his calling. That is the work of an artisan. Master of his craft. The wall paper…..and the fireplace. My wish, once my health is better, is to go to Lalande. Thank you for sharing 🇨🇦❤️

Upon seeing the rooms' reveal took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes. It is absolutely a treasure of a room. Amaury is not just a master carpenter he is a craftsman, magnificent job! Congratulations to you all and thanks for sharing this with us. And yes Philip has a great eye for color. 😊

Oh...oh... Stephanie, there aren't words... Stunning? Exquisite? Breathtaking? All that and more! Amury, what a triumph! This reminds me of a scene in Last Holiday where Queen Latifa looks at the ceiling of the Grandhotel Pupp and starts to cry, because it's so incredibly beautiful!😭 I'm in need of a few tissues...😭🤧♥️ In a hundred years, if the Lord Jesus, our sacrificial Lamb, hasn't yet returned, the people that are privileged to see Amury's amazing work will be in need of some tissues too.😭🤧♥️

OMG, absolutely stunning, I get now why this took some time. I agree that the workmanship on the paneling is second to none as good as I have ever seen a craftsman do. Congratulations to you all on the completion of this task. It gets better and better with quality craftsmanship now.

That room is fitting of a chateau and by many miles the best looking room in the chateau. Hope there’s much more to come like that at La Lande. Superb craftsman ship from Amaury and the design elements employed in the room were top notch!

WOW, what a gorgeous transformation. It feels like such an honour to witness what you all are doing with this chateau. The love, care and attention to detail from all of you is the biggest pleasure to witness. Congratulations! SO excited to see le Grand Salon come to life!
