40:40 I was privileged to be an American chess player alive during the Fischer -Spasky era. It was definitely invigorating to American chess in particular, and to world chess as well. I particularly remember being absolutely stupified after the first two games, along with the rest of America, but the thrill of seeing Fischer carry on to win is unforgettable.

At 28"42, Qe7 Checkmate looks like a strong move.

Yeah, the opponent totally missed it. It doesn't feel good in games that I have played, when I win a game like that one, where I know the opponent should have won. Banzea SHOULD have blocked the bishop's path and castled Queen side, but he pushed the F pawn too far, and he didn't interpose with the bishop until he had forfeited his right to castle. That dark squared bishop was well placed.

I watched this yesterday morning, and yesterday afternoon won a game in 7 moves when my opponent played the Fantasy Variation, just as Alex showed in the video.

Opponent throwing pawns at you in the first game which creating threats is the stuff I still get tilted at, so it was great to see how you calmly handled it.

Great video. It's super easy to follow along your narration so your blitz games are really educational. At 14:32, I don't think he was in time trouble, but I think that at that rating players get nervous when we're winning and we don't know what to do, and he thought that the 17 seconds on your clock was little enough that he could flag you. Which is obviously wrong but my point is that his mistake may have been failing to stay cool under time pressure, panicking a little and doing something impulsive (after all, it's still a blitz game) -- rather than being unable to calculate that rd4 was bad. At 1400, I'm sure he could've seen that rd4 was terrible if he had thought about it.

Hi Alex, I am continuing to enjoy your London chessable course. In the London course you mention the possibility of playing the reversed london as black. I am wondering if you have any plans on publishing a chessable course on playing the london as black? Perhaps you are working on a caro kann course? I think if you made the reverse london and caro-kann it would be a great triad when combined with the London for the adult improver. Thanks for your hard work!

Hi Alex! How do you like the Karpov variation vs the Tartakower? I feel like it helps develop my black pieces more thant the tartakower forced line. Just hoping on your input here!:)
