Models and point clouds are great, but you need specialized software to view them. Videos and animations on the other hand can be viewed by almost anyone and what better way to WOW your clients than with a video of their data?
In this video I'll guide you through the steps of creating a fly through video in Agisoft Metashape including the various options, view types and what each of the functions does.
This applies to 3D Models, points clouds and vector elements.

This is great, thank you. Could one use this to create a 'walk-through'or 'drive-through' of a town model? I would need to set the camera height above ground and its travel speed.

Hi - thanks for watching! Yes, I think you could achieve what you have asked. However, not automatically. For the elevation setting you need, I would find the elevation of the ground point where your key frame would be and then add your required height above ground and find the final height. Then, you can manually edit the key frame elevation accordingly. As for the speed, measure the total distance your video will travel and then set speed by adjusting the video time (duration). A simple distance/time equation solves the need. I hope that makes sense and sorry it isn't easier (at least I don't know an easier way) - but you should be able to end up with the result you desire.

Hi, Thx. for your Tips and videos for Metashape. How can I import a road layer into the model ? which formats ? and how to import with a certain height above the model ?

Hi - I think the easiest would be a Shapefile format for the road layer. The way I set it at a certain height above the model is to export the point cloud from Metashape. Then, open it in something that allows you to drape vectors on to point clouds. ArcGIS, QGIS or I use Global Mapper. Drop the element onto the surface at a set elevation, or edit your surface to a new elevation and drop the element onto it right there. Then, export the vectors to a shapefile and import that file into MetaShape.

How to Export orthofo images larger than 4 GB?

Hi - JPG files cannot be created larger than 4GB, it is a limit of the file type. You can create a GeoTIFF image, but have to use the BigTIFF setting to do this (check the checkbox on export). Else, break your JPG file into tiles, each smaller than 4GB.
