So hey, I've put hundreds of hours into many Monster Hunter games and I need to point something out... If you're having fun, you're doing it right. If the monsters are going down, you're doing it right. If you're surviving the fights, you're doing it right. That's all there is to it. Just enjoy yourself and don't let any "elite" tell you how to play.

Hey jack, about the bow.. Charge shots are best for applying afflictions (Posion paralyze ect) rappidly shooting is good for doing fast damage. You can dash while charging adding another arrow (to 2 or 3 arrows), that arc shot does impact damage which can stun, And! If you charge up to three arrows and then use that super shot thing, it will fire three of them. Lastly, if you join people, the creature gets extra hp. Like so he can see those.

One suggestion though, watch video tutorials for whatever weapon you want to play There’s a lot of “hidden” factors Such as the bows critical distance It’s not very effective at short or long range but excels at medium

this game is good to pick up again now that everyone just stay inside,with Icebourne out too, so much more places to explore and so much monsters to kill. The new Monster Hunter Rise is coming out soon on Nintendo Switch, can't wait to play with friends online.

People being "ticked off" in Monster Hunter for someone newish to the game and learning the weapons? ....HAH! Jack obviously isn't aware that the MH community is pretty freakin' amazing in terms of understanding and helpfulness. :3 That's pretty much one of the biggest reasons it's such a fun game, imo. :D We just like to play and we're glad to have ya on board, Jackaboy!

you have no idea the feeling this community gets when we get uploads notifications from you. your videos are the highlight of my day.

Man I'm just typing up all sorts of stuff. So about the Charge Blade, here's some useful things I don't know if you know about. Firstly its blocking potential has a lot to talk about. Starting with the basics, Charge Blade blocking only makes you step backwards a little for all attacks except for the strongest of attacks which makes you slide backwards. However, when you charge your shield, it improves your blocking as you would no longer budge for all attacks and with strongest attacks, it only makes you step backwards. There's also higher damage reduction and lower stamina consumption so it's a good idea to keep your shield charged at all times. There's also perfect Guard with Charge Blades where when you guard at the perfect time, you actually deal damage back to the monster, you'll hear a explosion and see it visually as well. Another thing is that with certain attacks in Sword and Shield mode, you end in 'Guard' positioning meaning you are blocking during that time. It's usually at the end of the attack combos such as your Hold Down-O attack. Also when morphing from Axe to Sword mode attack ends in Guard as well. Since it buffs your blocking, of course it also buffs your axe damage as well. You also can charge your sword now, a new feature to this game. You can only charge your sword when your Shield is charged. When your shield is charged, just do the command for recharging phials but when you're doing it, hold down the Triangle button and you'll start charging your sword. Release the button when you hear the 2nd sound effect, if you hold it for too long, you won't charge your sword. What this does is that it adds bonus damage to your sword when you swing it. Not sure if it adds a bonus to your Super Attack though as I've not seen any differences. And the combo you wanted is just Triangle + Circle twice, you'll just do a Shield stab and go into the Super Attack. Although if you have enough time, it's much more preferably to just go into Axe mode attack and then press Triangle+Circle for maximum damage.

I’m really happy he gave this game a try and that he is enjoying it. As a mh vet I’m really happy new people are playing and enjoying the game. But with mass media comes the ones who try to exploite it cause they find it too challenging, the fun begins when there’s a challenge. But it seems like jack is getting how the game works I can’t wait to see more videos!

(I am using the default Xbox Controls) (This is a rather long comment...) Hi I thought I would share some handy bow tips. So to start things off I just like to point out that every chained attack will increase the bow charge level so using the standard fire (right trigger) 3 times without charging on the third shot and onward without interruption will be at max charge (unless the Bow has an extra charge level) and the same goes for the 3 attacks on the Arc shot combo (on B) so as long as you make sure the arc shot is at least the third attack in your attack chain or your bow is fully charged it will do more damage. With the Dragon pierce move (Y+B) the damage it does also scales with what level charge you are at and will change how much damage you do, so it’s best to charge the bow to max charge and then Dragon Pierce for maximum damage even though it will take longer to land the hit. Also as implied by the name it is a Piercing attack, meaning it will travel through targets and damage as many parts of a monster as it can within its given range, so it is best when possible to use it aiming from its head to its tail or vis versa as you can get more damage done and it helps break more parts of the monster quickly. While aiming with (Left Trigger) and press (A) to dodge your character will quickly step to the side and keep the current charge level of your bow and allows you to keep damage up. Also just as you finish the side step you can; press (B) to go straight into the spread shot and start the arc shot chain, Release (Right Trigger) to fire the arrow and as long as you haven’t moved the (right analogue stick (camera)) the character will fire the shot in the direction of your last attack and finely if you press (Y) just as you finish the side step you will pull an arrow from your quiver and do a jumping stab with the arrow that also counts as a mounting opportunity. Something Else you can do with the Aiming Dodge is that if you dodge into a wall your character will automatically run up the wall, jump off and do a spread shot towards the ground. (Saved me a couple of times when a monsters charging at me or has chased me into a corner). If you Hold down (Left Trigger)+(Right Trigger)+B you can aim your arc shot with the (Right Stick). When applying Status effects like sleep, poison and paralysis it is best to charge each shot individually as the damage you do with these shots will increase how long the monster will be affected by its effect. There are also Indicators for when you are out of range of the monster and when you are in Most Efferent range, an additional ring will appear around the aiming reticule depending on what coating you have applied to your arrows for when you are in optimal range for hitting all your arrows. If I have made any mistakes please let me know and I hope this helps anyone new to the Bow in MHW. Happy Hunting, NovaAzrael

I've been too obsessed with getting the super huge hit in, and I should really be just using the axe for what it is more often, cause that axe has some NASTY reach and is really epic... 😂

Its actually really nice to see this series getting the amount of love it has been getting since World launched. And while the series as a whole isn't for everyone it's nice to see it getting exposure on this kind of scale. However, I'm comenting because I'd like to offer you some advice. ¬ Between hunts visit the item boxes to store items that have no immediate use and replenish healing items (if you have them). ¬ At this early stage use one of the EZ Rations from the supply box even after you've eaten, it'll bump your stamina up to the 150 cap and make managing it a little bit easier. ¬ The bow is a weapon you charge to increase the effect of, the charge has two levels and gives a visual and audio cue to let you know it's hit a new level. The charge level affects every shot you can do, making them more powerful. This includes your standard shots, Arc-shot (the one that rains down on after you shoot it), and the Dragon Piercer (the rocket-propelled arrow) so try to get off fully charged shots whenever possible to get the most out of your shots. ¬ The Arc-shot can inflict stun if you hit a monster in the head with it enough. It also exhausts monsters after a number of hits, both of which can give you and your team some good openings to attack without worry. ¬ The Dragon Piercer hits multiple times and is best used when firing straight at monsters from either in-front of, or behind them. ¬ Be aware that monsters do have different elemental strengths and weaknesses, exploit the weaknesses to get a little bit more out of your shots. ¬ When in the bow's aiming mode your roll is replaced by a slide that can be used to increase or maintain your current charge level whilst dodging, just bear in mind that it has lower invulnerability than your roll does and also has a pretty hefty stamina cost to it. The bow chews through stamina pretty quickly in this game. ¬ The power shot (the shot you can get off by immediately pressing circle after another shot) is very short range, use it whenever you find yourself close to the monster you're hunting and you have an opening to do so. Just a few small pieces of advice to help you get into your weapon and make the early game just a little bit easier.

Charge Blade tips for the rest of us (control inputs are for Xbox because that's what I play on): * When your shield is charged, even when you're not storing any phials you can press RT+B and then hold Y to charge your sword, which will cause it to do phial damage without using phials and ignore armor. It's faster to do when you're storing phials with your RT/B, so do that if you can. * If you hold your B attack for too long you'll miss out on the downswing part of the attack. Release as soon as it's fully charged. * Charging your shield doesn't boost sword damage, but does boost axe damage. Once you charge your shield and you have an opening, try fucking it up with the axe. Switching back to sword is easy anyway. * While pressing Y+B in axe mode is an easy way to do your super move, and the best way to do it on a sleeping monster, while in combat it's quicker to do it via pressing Y+B three times in a row. This has a habit of walking your forward some which can make you miss, so I personally prefer to do it from axe mode most of the time because I can get the damage from axe mode with it. * Don't use the Rathian charge blade against Pukei-Pukei. The Rathian charge blade does poison damage and Pukei-Pukei is highly resistant to poison.

Dude, as a vetrin hunter, it us great to see how the new players learn to play, and develop a love for the series. It truly is a great thing to see, and seing a big youtuber 0lay it is great. Also, rise has come out on the pc and will soon be comming to xbox and ps come 2023. I hope you stream them if you can, it will be a great way to expand the games community
