I really love this game and I'm super happy you're playing it. I just wanted to give you a few pointers on things you may have missed as well as some tips I've learned in case you decide to play this again. 1. Look at the enemies intent. If they aren't going to attack, don't block 2. Generally speaking, blocking is better than dealing damage. If you can take less damage by blocking, you should probably do it. 3. You should take a closer look at the map when you start and pick the route with the most campfires. Every route has the same number of chests, but the number of campfires differ. 4. If you get the option to remove a card from your deck you should seriously consider it. In case you didn't notice, the strikes and defends you start with are garbage compared to the other cards in the game. If you remove these cards as you go on, your overall deck quality improves. Most importantly, have fun with the game. I hope this was helpful, and hopefully you'll make another episode of this, you still have a ton of content to unlock.

"Oh you can see what they are gonna do." Proceeds to completely ignore it and block turns they aren't attacking...

This really is a great game. I'd love to see more episodes. What we saw here was only Act 1. Things get much more difficult but the mechanics of the game are extremely well done. After two or three tries you start to learn a few new things and plan your run much better, as well as picking, or not picking, the right cards (too many cards can be a bad thing). Jacks heal cards didnt come back because they were exhausted...exhausted cards can work in the Irionclads favor eventualy, granting block for each one. Also, card removal can be amazing for removing curses, wounds, etc. from your deck. When upgrading cards, check a couple different ones out before deciding, the Armaments card upgraded upgrades every card in your hand when used. Don't play block cards if no enemy is attacking, it's just a waste of energy. One more tip, and sorry for the long comment, in Act 1 I usually try to avoid combat and go for mysteries and chests as they can give relics, and a few good relics is all it takes to make you op. Jack, please give this another go, and anyone looking to get this game and play, have fun and good luck!

Jack your heal cards had ”exhaust" on them, they were removed from the deck for the rest of the match. Which is why they never came back.

the heals exhausts and you may wanna hover on the enemies in your turn to figure out what stuff they do so you can play around it like the boss you were against you need to damage him into defensive mode to break his strong attack.

If you like these kind of games Jack, might I suggest Sentinels of the Multiverse? It's a super hero card game, that while having a bit of a learning curve and is often very difficult, it's actually very enjoyable

JACK the blue cars are skill cards they are normally better like metallicize which you didn't get 9:20 is a really good card that carries over block after each turn and there are certain cards that buff skill cards just to let you know hope you continue with this game. Also exhaust means that you can't use that card for the rest of the battle and both your heals had exhaust which means they are gone till the end of the battle that is why they didn't come back in the end boss battle. And the Spire is the while tower you are in you were only on floor 1 to "Slay the Spire" you have to clear the entire tower.

Jack... please, if you're gonna play more of this and you get a card that says ''draw a card'' like 'shrug it off' then DON'T use it at the end of your turn. Use it at the start, that way you have more options to do stuff.

Oh its so painful to watch :( You dont need to block if there not attacking and play the vulnerable before you attack with other cards Also there is so much more you can do just keep playing and you will learn the best combos and routes up (? can = more relics, same with elite fights, RELICS ARE KEY)

You should be playing "Shrug it Off" at the start of the turns you plan to use it, not at the end. The card you draw might be useful, but if you play Shrug at the end of your turn, you won't have the energy to us it.

I watch another KZfaqr play this! It's a very cool card game! HOLY COW HE MENTIONED HEARTHSTONE! I LOVE HEARTHSTONE!!! Also, a helpful tip, Jack: It's good to remove non playable or flat out bad cards from your deck when you can because then you draw your good ones more! Hope you play this more! More tips: your heal cards said EXHAUST which means they disappear from your deck after you use them until your next combat. ALSO your blocks will disappear at the end of your opponent's turn unless you have played a certain card so it is useless to build up more armor than the opponent can deal.

IT"S OKAY TO TAKE AN EXTRA SECOND TO READ THINGS, JACK. Omg, there are so many things you missed, I'm sure others have pointed them out, but don't be afraid to take your time with a game that requires reading!

The number one piece of advice I have for you in this game is to take your time and carefully read the specific effects of your cards, effects of buffs and debuffs on you and enemies, and learn to read your enemies' intent. Normally speaking you never want to play defense cards on turns when enemies aren't attacking you.

The Sentrys weren't taking away your cards, they were adding useless "Dazed" cards to your discard pile. This prevents you from drawing the cards you need when Dazed is shuffled back into your deck.

I don't know if you'll play this one again, but I think you don't need to block if the enemies don't have an "attack intent" (which is usually a weapon icon above their heads), especially because your blocks last a single turn :)

Jack, power cards are like a permanent effect that last until the next fight, unknown spaces give you a chance to get cool relics but you pay a price which is normally a curse or it is a combat square or a shop, a curse is a card that is in your deck which is unplayable and gives you a bad effect like you lose one health for every unplaced card in your hand or shit like that.

This is really cool! I'd love to see more when the game is fully developed! I love how all of Jack's attacks appear to be coming from the Sam logo at the bottom right hand corner of the screen!

Metalicize is actually an incredible card, because it's permanent. Once you play it, its effect is there for the whole rest of the fight; meaning every turn you get 3 block for free. And the things that make Anger useful are that it's free--it doesn't cost any energy--and every time you play it you get another one in your discard pile, which means once you've cycled through your deck a few times you can end up playing 3 or 4 of them a turn for free.

when you asked "why would I discard a card" when you met this cleric dude, it's to get rid of cards that you don't want (to have a smaller deck and such get to draw stronger and better cards more)

The new character reminds me of Elias from The Ancient Magus Bride By the way you should watch that anime, it has some Irish mythology in it.

Hey jack! I love watching you play these type of card games, but I have a few tips for this one. 1. You can check whatever an enemy is about to do by hovering your mouse above them 2. You can see what buffs/debuffs you and the enemy have by hovering under the health bar 3. Shield disappears immediately, so if the enemy isn’t attacking you don’t have to shield 4. Exhaust means the card is gone for the rest of the fight, your bandages didn’t come back because they exhaust, you had less and less shield because one of your attacks exhausted all skills in hand 5. Some cards seem really good/like they have no downside, even so the card still takes up a space in your deck 6. You only want good cards in your hand, so if you had one really good attack and one really good shield, you could play those every turn since they would shuffle back, that’s why it’s good to keep your deck small 7. This also why you would want to get rid of cards. Anyway I really loved seeing you play this, hope you play more!

Removing cards is actually quite handy after a while. Sense your deck will continuously bloat due to getting new cards, it can be hard to draw specific cards out of your deck. Removing cards let you take out cards that are no longer useful for you, either being to weak or don't mesh well with the rest of your cards.

I'm normally not a big fan of these kinds of games, but I quite liked this.

It honestly was enjoyable to watch Jack make the same silly mistakes that i made when i started playing. It doesn't look like there will more videos because this is not called (part 1) but i do want to see an episode where he beats all three floors. Removing Stikes and Defends will increase your decks power, as they will always be the weakest cards in your deck example: Strike 1 energy 6 damage Cleave: 1 energy 7 damage damage to ALL enemies (can do 7/14/21/28/35 Damage depending on the fight) You get way more bang for your buck. Jack if you somehow read this this far comment and want to continue hear me being that jerk and correct you, thank you and i'm sorry, This is a deck building rogue-like game, much UNLIKE hearthstone and yugioh, In this game, you start with a base deck and edit to to make it more powerful with step of the way, where as in hearthstone and yugioh you have your full end game deck from turn one.

Jack, you need to *lay your mouse upon the enemy* to find out what they're going to do or to see their status. Basically, What they're going to do is on top of them, their buffs or debuffs are under them. And you don't need to block if enemy won't attack that turn, so blocking is useless that turn. Unless you get the card that helps you to keep block stack even if turn ends (It's called *barricade*, I remember), block disappears at the end of the turn. And *Exhaust* means it's one time use for that battle. If you use it, you can't see that card anymore for that battle!

Pleeeease play more! I love this game and watching jack kinda stumble through is really funny for people who know the game. :D

Jack you don´t have to take a card every time. If there are some that you don´t like than you can choose not to take any. Also it is better to play with less cards than to get to much, because that way you won´t get all of your good cards or combinations that will deal a ton of damage or help you out in a bad situation.

Hi Jack, removing cards from your deck does have some advantages. Namely you lessen the odds to draw a dead card or even completely nullifying it if there's only one copy of it. It increases your chances to draw a more useful and/or powerful card over, say, a basic attack or block card. For example: Shrug it off with a 1/16 chance or 1/15 chance in a deck of 16 or 15 with a card removed.

I was once watching somebody play this, and they accidentally created the most overpowered block deck imaginable. He and the chat all ultimately ended up calling it the 'Shruggernaut' deck, because it always boiled down to him using Shrug it Off repeatedly as his block value skyrocketed.

The heal cards are permanently exhausted for the rest of the fight, they aren't available again in the same fight once you use them.

Be carefull with playing The Silent, because there is currently a bug where if you ''save and exit'' the game forgets to do the saving part for him. I lost one of my best runs ever because of that. I was easily going to score over 1000 points if the run continued like that for me

This game is fun as fuck, as well as addictive Also, removing a card from your deck is considered a reward because the fewer cards you have, the more often you'll draw the ones you want/need. You typically want to remove a basic attack or defend from your deck WHENEVER possible, because literally every other card in the game is better, and you want to be drawing those other cards as often as you can

Gwent. I think Jack was talking about Gwent when he said there was a game like this for the Play Station. It's similar in the fact that it's a card game with some mechanical similarities, but in the long run it is extremely different. It's an amazing game, and the fact that it's free is nice. 😊

You should play Duelyst. It's pretty similar to this in that you have cards that you use to attack enemies, but you can place minions that can also attack the enemy and their minions, and it's got an AMAZING art style for the area that you battle in, and the menus and things, but then in battle, you're character is like 8-bit, and it's really cool. I haven't played much of it, but what I have I really, really like it, and think you would enjoy it! ( I checked and it's free on Steam.)

Jack, you should play the silent, she is much more fun than the ironclad, also, look on top off the enemies there is a little icon which shows their intent, you should always check that and if they are not going to deal damage to you there is no use of wasting energy for blocks just go all out with attacks on that turn. Also a mistake new players make is not understanding that your hp is much more valuable than the enemies's since you can only heal at specific times, so you should prioritize blocking and taking less damage than dealing damage to the enemy, that way you have to waste less bonfires to heal and upgrade more cards. Also there is more than one boss, but don't worry, when you defeat a boss and enter then next floor your health is restored to max, so the only thing you should worry for is not dying since your health will reset. I hope you continue playing the game because it is really fun, even if you don't make videos on it.
