Thank you! Is there a video on how to deal with the opponent's grip on your tsurite? In the video uke never has a grip on the tsurite that would prevent you from turning your elbow in.

@@fluidjudojapan " Tsurite like Morote Seoi-nage " ... I saw a difference between European judokas and Asian judokas regarding morote seoi-nage throws ... the European's grip is (very) tight and the Japanese or Korean judokas is very loose. A tight grip makes more difficult to turn in and the elbow is stiff, and it's not too much space ( between Uke and Tori) ... and the technique doesn't looks so smooth ( fluid)... is like something is stopping me to execute properly. The same principle is for Tai Otoshi too, the more loose is my grip-lapel the better is my pivotation. I love the the rotation in aiyotsu ( 3:27) from your video. Sensei, one more time, thank you for this video.

Thank you always Hodgson Catalin✋ In Japan, instead of gripping tightly, people are often instructed to hook their fingers on the collar and use their wrists softly. You are studying well. That's excellent👍

I still feel like I might damaged uke knee from doing this. Does uke trip over my calf? Or does uke get thrown because of the stress on their knee causing them to go forward ?
@dijks350
@dijks350 2 жыл бұрын
@@zachariahs.1112 Tai otoshi is not a block with the legs. It's a te-waza (arm throw). Uke falls because he is offbalanced by the pull-push of your arms and the rotation of your body that is falling in a low position. The leg is used a support for your body and doesn't HAVE TO block ukes leg. But the leg can add to the finish of the throw but shouldn't be the main driver.
