My scoundrel build used invis more than yours at latter levels but pretty much plays the same: spread poison around-> deal dmg. starting cards: tops: quick hands, venom shiv, swift bow, throwing knives bottoms: trickster's reversal, backstab, thief's knack, single out wildcard: special mixture losses: single out L2: open wound in, swift bow out L3: hidden daggers in, trickster's reversal out L4: duelist advance in, open wound out L5: visage of the inevitable in, thief's knack out L6: crippling poison in, quick hands out, thief's knack in, single out out new loss: crippling poison L7: stick to the shadows in, thief's knack out L8: stiletto storm in, throwing knives out L9: watch it burn in, venom shive out new loss: watch it burn final cards: wildcard: special mixture tops: watch it burn, crippling poison, duelist advance, stiletto storm bottoms: visage of the inevitable, hidden daggers, stick to the shadows, backstab notes: can keep open wound or venom shiv for backstab as we're primarily using backstab for the big move if you want the versatility of having a better top.

I did forget to mention the alternate invis build. That's one problem with not covering every card. I'll have to maybe put in a small section about alt builds in future vids.

@@89Games imo its fine if you just mention it in passing. This is YOUR build after all. Thats whats great with gloomhaven. Theres good build diversity. As a scoundrel you can be pure melee, pure range or a mix of both. You can have sub theme of poison, relying on allies being adjacent, wound, invis or a mix of a couple of those.

empowering talisman, minor stamina pot and major stamina pot should cover for using watch it burn and crippling poison even on the 1st round (when i like to use them). to ensure i get both out quickly, i also use ring of brutality/second chance ring. I think at higher levels once you've eliminated the negative mods, eagle eye goggles loses potency and empowering talisman becomes the better pick. If you dont mind the risk, the pendant that recovers 2 consumed items in exchange for a curse is better. I'll talk about my build in a separate comment as i leaned more towards invisibility more than you did (i play 2 man parties). On the format, since you discussed the L1 build in a separate vid, i think its fine as its much quicker. only thing i'd add is probably a graphic on screen showing which cards you play strictly as tops and bottoms + which you play as wild cards (top/bottom/situationally unused). An example of a wild card for me is special mixture. Sometimes i use it alot because i need healing or to setup a poison with a move. Sometimes it doesnt get used as i''m undamaged or there's no one to poison.

Very true about higher level and the goggles, but I really like seeing that x2 show up when Ive already buffed damage. Nothing like hitting a boss for 40+ damage lol. On talking about using the tops or bottoms, I've never really thought about it that way. I tend to be flexible when playing and use different tops and bottoms depending on the situation, though with that said, there are some tops or bottoms that I pretty much never use. I'll have to think about that one a bit. Good suggestion though for sure.

@@89Games i think for a single attack character like the nightshroud, the empowered talisman is for sure better. For a multi-attacker like brute or a multi-target/aoe like a ranged scoundrel, eagle eye goggles still is great. Yeah some cards you just use one or the other, espcially ones which are parts of combos. Like in my invis reliant build, i exclusively use the bottom of hidden daggers and stick to shadows. Others i'm more flexible like i use open wound mostly for the bottom but eventually as i have more top losses, i just use it as a bottom on the 1st round then as a top for subsequent rounds (because i lose 1/2 of my top cards due to them being in play).

Yeah I like to use power potion and eagle-eye goggles on the muti-target characters for sure. Can almost wipe a room that way!

@@89Games same. eventually you can add a certain robe and staff to this mix to really pump up the room clearing capability. spellweaver and hatchet have good starting room clearing cards. spellweaver of course has the best L9 card in the game. mid-late game others get good multi-target too like the scoundrel and mind thief.
