I’m thankful for tou explanation but I think it doesn’t cover Buffs ): I haven’t found one that helps me in this matter at least. Like I want to put two buffs on my Front Row but the first goes right and the other goes to another unit 💔 Is there a limit to buffs? I think the game should have implemented a condition to NOT do stuff like Not use Physickal Atk Up on a Mage unit (which is happening to me)

Its a fun game (so far 30 hours in on Expert level) but still a tad easy. I'm hoping after I finish it the true zenorian difficulty will bring a much needed challenge to this.

Started true zenorian 2 days ago, Allrdy rushed trough drakenholm and elheim. Its honestly very very easy once you have experience from expert. Especially if you just run the usual stuff early like Hilda Dragoon-Cathat instant freeze comp. But even without the boardclear stuff, my other "normal" units perform rly good too and oneshot basically everything. Its sadly... a really really easy game. Im usually a coward. Usually i play anything on normal. However.... This game has the same issue as persona 5. Even on the hardest difficulty its a joke (i still LOVE both games tho, im just saying its rly rly rly easy... even on hardest difficulty)

I just noticed. Pay attention if your unit is walking or running. My first desert biome really forced me to pay attention to the roads. Use the griffing rider buff because I was mostly infantry with just two flying units. in terms of leveling. i noticed the final fight in every battle gets you lots of xp and money ... so you might want to have a liquid fortune at hand

The third unit would just get countered pretty hard by one row barrier form a sainted knight or heaven forbid a reflect magic from a feather shield

yep, reflect magic is the Achilles heal of this unit for sure. Thankfully most units won't have this ability so the unit works about 90% of the time even in late game.

The Dragoon dive I found seems better than yours no offense. I found it on KZfaq but forget who made it, it uses Gilbert as an initiative and attack buffer, a which for ice conferral and her own ice attacks only to be used on those that aren’t frozen, and a cleric that uses quick impetus. The Wuven also used the wyvern reins for more damage and true strike as well as she has a carnelian pendant for 3 AP, the quick impetus makes that 4 and she can dragoon dive twice and on the second one since they should all be frozen is a free one to get off and on use Gilbert uses the gamblers coin on the Wyvern to boost the damage even more and since it’s a true strike the accuracy drop doesn’t matter

Ps for 5 units he didn’t have one so I added Morard with his ice Axe for more freezing but not hitting frozen targets that is key
@chainsawboy2388
@chainsawboy2388 18 күн бұрын
Also the 4 man version is amazing for coliseum since in the later fights you can just have the wyvern not cast the second dive and you win by default assuming you went first since they never unfreeze, even the Amalia fight (the first one) even those go Amalia herself is immune to freeze, the lords of the deep sucked to fight though I had to troubleshoot over and over until I finally beat it with a scuffed version of the original unit, unfortunately I forget what I did exactly but I do remember Gilbert was swapped for a Rouge with 4 PP

Oh yeah if anyone wants to exact positions it’s the Wyvern in the back left, cleric in the back middle, Witch and the back right, and Gilbert in the front middle (I had Morard in the front right)
@89Games
@89Games 18 күн бұрын
Oh for sure this is better. I had put a lot of the items required on the other two units, so I wasn't able to buff my Wyvern unit near as much as would be possible. The great part about the board wipe attackers, is that all of them are viable if buffed properly, especially if you go all out for just one unit. Spreading out the buffs and items for multiple units can give you more options, but does make each of them a bit less effective than they could be.

@89Games
@89Games 18 күн бұрын
They aren't board attackers so I didn't cover them, but the quick version is Alain's unit is really tanky with monica and scarlett providing healing while Alain and the two landsknechts provide the damage. Gilbert's unit makes use of the dirty gambler's coin to increase the damage and crit rate of the 2 swordmasters' true strike attacks (originally there were three swordmasters here instead of the werelion which worked really well for anything before Albion), while the viking and werelion provide row attacks. Finally, Eltolinde's unit I used mainly as a defensive unit to hold points under attack, hence the heavy units out front with the the healers in back.

Hey 89. Update from me with 2 days left in the nintendo sale: 1. stopped playing MUA3. i've transitioned to fell seal: arbiters mark since the system is engaging mark and i've been able to get past the meh art style/animations. 2. bought valkyria chronicles 4 and i plan to play that as my next game. $9.99 for the game + all DLCs. I enjoyed valkyria chronicles 1 and i highly recommend checking it out if you're looking to add games to your docket after 13 sentinels. Thought its a good deal for $9.99. 4. Scouted other trpgs. Have you played any of the mercenaries games (latest is mercenaries lament) or record of agarest war? They seem interesting, especially the latter. Though someone told me to stay way from the latter if i dont like grindy games as its very grindy. Also a very old game. Its a PS3 port. 5. Is 13 sentinels next on your coverage docket?

Yeah I've looked at all those before, wasn't sure about them. I picked up Banner of the Maid I think it's called? Can't remember now lol. It a trpgs based on the French revolution. I dont plan to pick up anything else. I think VC4, FS and a re-run of UO should tide me until the next sale or metal slug comes out. You plan to do some livestream of the battles of 13 sentinels? my style for progression there is i would progress the story as far as i can go per character until everyone is locked. Use the currency to upgrade the sentinels. Then keep playing the destruction missions one after the other until i cant go further. Then go back to story binging again.

@@TheRobversion1 yeah, I think it's fun. It's a faster pace crpg with a tighter focus. Each area offers like maybe 2 or 3 side quests and they're relatively quick to do so it keeps things moving. @@89Games agreed. i enjoyed BG3 thoroughly but it was just too damn long. games likes CARDS are too short. i think the right balance is about 40-50H of gameplay. though tbh with great QOL games like UO, i didnt notice i was clocking in 100s of hours. divinity original sin 2 was highly recommended to me but i cant just seem to push myself to get it because of the hours i've seen people log online on it. i do trust larian so i know it's good but i'm at the point where i want most of my games to be snappy like cards rpg, UO and 13 sentinels.

Yeah, not everyone's cup o' tea but I was enjoying so thought I'd do something different in between trpgs. Yeah, I've actually taken a look at demos for kriegsfront and codename bakery both before. I've been keeping my eye on metal slug too, looks like it finally has a release window for this fall, but it's been delayed several times so we'll see. @TheRobversion1
@TheRobversion1 Ай бұрын
@@89Games hahah. i think just finish CARDS 1st. that's newer and it wont be long. then you can get back to RR or do something new. for sure though, you'll have time to slot in other things later in the year. i was checking upcoming trpgs 2024 on the switch and no big projects caught my eye outside of metal slug tactics. everything else is more indie like bakery or kriegsfront or crown wars. so there would be definitely slots for you to go back to any older games you want to promote. 13 sentinels i think would be a quick cover for the channel/dont stream outside of the early parts as you may not want to spoil the GOAT-level story for people. like maybe 1 stream for the early game and 1 tips/build discussion vid (or 4 short ones if you want to split the vids among the 4 classes or maybe 2 with 2 classes each) and 1 general review/thoughts.

Man the game was quick! Just finished it. Glad i bought MUA 3 too as now i'm on to the next game. 5 insights towards the end: 1. Game is pretty good at propelling you forward and not ruining momentum. Ending was fine with 1 twist. 2. This is probably the quickest game i've ever played due to a lack of postgame content (you can just replay everything on higher difficulty, no new fights/unlockables). I think i finished it in 15 hours across 3 days (fri, sat, sun). I wish the game was longer. 3. the game gives you that 8th squad slot in the final battle. Too late imo. I was able to unlock 23/38 strategist nodes by the end. I never unlocked erik. Lol. 4. never figured out the speed stat. Lol. Lots of interesting builds though once you have multiple copies of certain gear. 5. Deck i took into the final battle: 7 armor of steel 5 power of lightning +2 12 trick attack +2 23 trick attack +1 (0 cost) 3 random (picked attack cards like SOA) so yes half of my 47 card deck was 0 cost. and everything else was 1 cost. 35 cards in my deck allowed me to draw a card, 12 allowed me to draw 2. This setup technically allowed me to have access to my full deck in turn 1 of almost every fight as almost every time i was using a card it was getting replaced. yea this allowed me to 1st turn kill most enemies and even most bosses. At most bosses would survive 2 turns (outside of the final boss). Anyway it was a great game. shouldve been cheaper and longer and thats why it gets knocked down a couple of pegs in my book. Definitely in my top 10 TRPGS on the switch of all time.
@TheRobversion1
@TheRobversion1 Ай бұрын
Oks. I couldnt put the game down. LOL. mission 13 now and i finally hit 7 deployables. Havent unlocked erik (the cavalry). heres some stuff that have changed in my playthrough: 1. Didnt notice before there were cost +1s on green nodes on the strategist board. Beelined for it instead. That was a big power spike. It allowed me to remove source of power and supplies in my deck. 2. due to the way my deck is constructed now, i'm doing alot of 1-turn kills. Sometimes i'd spam like 10+ TA in a row and just nuking enemies on round 1. The high def from gear (shields, blessed talisman) help me survive 1st strikes. Supplemented by warrior armor for those wth low hp. POL keeps enemies paralyzed most of the time so i only ever take dmg when enemies go 1st. 3. since you discard 3 after every battle, pretty much we're customizing a 47 card deck at most. This game has so many combinations! i havent even gotten to any +2 cards yet. So far my deck looks like this: 5 AOS 4 SOA: strong +1 8 TS +1 7 POL +1 23 TA +1 so yeah almost half my deck is TA. 31 of my cards are 0 cost. I pretty much burn through most of my hand. I'm still polishing the balance but i really enjoy where my deck is at now. i eventually want to get 2 more TA +1 just to ensure i dont hit a lull when cycling through the deck.

Update on my game hunt: i found an online seller today of marvel ultimate alliance 3 2nd hand copy and bought it for the cheap price of $12. Same guy sold me a brand new copy of CARDS RPG for $33. still too pricey for my tastes for how the game is but i though a $7 discount is fine so i could catch up to your streams! haha. so $45 though for a couple of games is all of my gaming budget for the next couple of months. lol. thankfully nothing looks interesting so far this june and july. by august, i'll revisit fell seal if there's nothing interesting out or coming up. out of curiosity, i'm wondering how much you guys spend on gaming monthy or yearly (excluding big purchases like consoles or pc upgrades... just games or accessories/dlc)? i set a budget of $25 per month. my purchases so far this year have been unicorn overlord, front mission 2nd remake, 13 sentinels, 2nd hand copy of MUA 3 and CARDS RPG.

@@89Games haha. Cool to know. I was wondering if my wife is right and i'm spending too much on games. She gives me the sideeye when i buy. Good to know i'm still spending in moderation. I am good with my budget now though as the breadth of games i can play has become limited ever since i sold my steam deck and ps4. That helps keep on the 1 cheap game per month or 1 pricey game per 2 months timeline. So yeah new observations on cards now that i have my own copy; 1. voltage is indeed xp for levelling up. All stats during level up arent permanent. Its just for the battle. This means the stat icreases you're getting are primarily from strategist or gear. 2. I tried the harder difficulty and it was tough. I went back to normal. I didnt enjoy having most of my team die. I already have 1 guy dying when i get careless on normal as it is. what difficulty are you playing in? 3. Enemy AI tends to go after lowest Hp 1st before lowest def. This means, warrior armor is bad for mr. Muscles if you want enemies to be drawn to him more. Better to put warrior armor on other low hp units like seth, the archer or leon.

@@89Games well i will catch up a bit due to it being the weekend. Lets see. So far at mission 6. 2 more observations: 1. the game draws from an item pool in certain stages.for stage rewards. Like i noticed i got offered that cat doll and you picked it. I ended up npt picking it because i was offered gold shield (+4 def) but you didnt get offered it. 2. the treasure chest items are fixed. I got the spiked armor in the same location. 3. defense/offense is badly worded. It doesnt increase your dmg. It gives you dmg reduction + weak attack. Some changes to my deck: 1. like you i've adjusted my gameplay. With so much strength of arms, i pushed out all ranged attacks from my deck. I pretty much just have 4 attack cards: strength of arms (weak), strength of arms (strong), execution (0 cost attack) and TA. why? I noticed the dmg bonus of SOA is ignore def. You'll always get that +5 bonus. 2. i tried out def/off but i am going to move away from it as the atk portion is too weak for my tastes. 3. I removed all defensive shields + potions and just rely on: muscles of steel (best dmg reduction card for me IMO), AOS and plead for mercy.

I dont think the "card is removed until combat ends" is a detriment to 50 card decks. Its only a detriment to decks with 15 cards or less. Used cards dont go back into the deck until you've run through your whole deck. So either way you're seeing that card once. Its just a balance for those who like having very small decks. the accuracy and field of vision items are the worst items in the game imo. cost upgrades on level ups are temporary. Certain classes get it at a higher chance in my observation over others like the scout.
@TheRobversion1
@TheRobversion1 Ай бұрын
I think muscles of steel is better than the strong defensive shields. fighting spirit + source of power + strength of arms strong is a good combo. for the cost though imo i'd still go with 1 AOS + 1 source of power + 3 TA. I Like that new supplies you have that enhances SOP to cost 2. Its a good alternative to having many SOP in the deck. You shouldnt skip throwing stones when it comes up and you still have ranged boost or poison arrow in the deck. Throwing stones is the best ranged card i've seen so far. I like that def/off card. great alternative to muscles of steel/defensive shields. I agree this game may not be worth $40 to some people but for sure its worth $30 and its definitely better value than alot of the AAA games out there because this game is actually great at something/unique. I'd skip all DLC though.
@89Games
@89Games Ай бұрын
Agreed on muscles of steel. I think the TA and Fighting Spirit starts a comparable to each other. Kinda depends on the passives you go with early on. @@89Games yeah i'm going with dmg per cost thats why i said TA pulls ahead. Never mind actually mitigating dmg while you're at it. Re-played the demo again and glad to find out that version of supplies is in the demo. I thought it was just the one for potions. I'd say though a 50/50 split with source of power isnt good. I think a 60/40 split is better. Like right now i'm running 4 SOP and 2 supplies. Its so fantastic for the archer to draw 3 throwing stones in the opening hand. I'm running 5 in the deck currently. What i like about it is it isnt a dead card like the special arrows. To evertone else, its still a normal attack. I dont mind as much the desire to monetize if the dev makes a great game, doesnt nickel and dime while also charging a fair price for the DLC. but yeah most nowadays wont do that. To be fair to acquire, this game has great gameplay. Its just that it lacks story whig makes it not worth the $40 price tag. Other games i've seen, including AAA, arent just at the same price but actually have mediocre gameplay AND story. and comparing this to other indies with the same price tag like Capes, CARDS RPG pulls ahead in value because its actually an engaging, fun game.

@@89Games yeah i think i'm convinced i'll get cards. Its just a question of when because i'm not happy with the price for the amount of content. For sure though, i enjoy the art style, music and gameplay more of cards. I am interested in the customization of fell seal but i hate the art style. How would you assess fell seal's story? thats why someone else told me just get fell seal now since its just $30 and pick up cards rpg later. i am looking at marvel ultimate alliance 3 now as looking at capes made me hanker to play a hero game which i havent played in a long time. Its more of an arpg than a trpg but i definitely enjoyed the earlier iterations in xmen legends 1 and 2 and MUA 1. didnt play MUA 2.

Other intel i got: 1. can deploy 7 units eventually. 2. you'll eventually complete the status board. 3. theres gear rarity. 4. enhanced cards can be dropped. 5. cost increases seem to be temporary during level ups. 6. the game just has 20 chapters/battles but can be replayed again in the postgame. Kinda disappointed here. hows your experience with this vs. capes? how do you think cards rpg stacks up vs. redemption reapers? for sure i think unicorn overlord, tactics ogre reborn and triangle strategy rank better than it..gloomhaven i'm not sure. I like the deck/character variety better in gloomhaven but i'd say the gameplay, music and graphics are better in CARDS.

Trying to wrap up my Capes vid now. Honestly Im not enjoying capes. No customization, or build variety. Fairly limited as a tactics game I'd say. They'll be more details in the vid. So I'd say I enjoy CARDS more for sure, though it is disappointing to hear that is short.

@@89Games so fell seal over cards rpg and capes? thinking of that route now for my next game (diofield chronicles is at the back of the list for now) since fell seal is cheaper than cards rpg. Maybe if i play fell seal next, that'll buy time for cards rpg price to drop. I tried returning to gloomhaven, RR and UO but i wasnt hooked. Its because i think 13 sentinels still has a hold of me storywise that i need a new story experience to get me engaged. Doing the older games i have for the gamelay alone isnt cutting it for me at the moment. How would you assess fell seal's story? I still dislike the art style/animations of that game. RR looks prettier to me. Haha.

As for other trpgs to check out this may, you may want to check out crown wars: the black prince. Trpg that has castle building mechanics.

Or do we have day 1 DLC? i didnt see the new characters in the strategist tree in the demo either. And hes playing greg ironheart (barb type with greataxe) in like the 1st mission. Theres also a selena artemisia (archer), vasbiard (a freakin chimera!), bartgreisse and i think theres 1 more.

So I’m at the end game in Albion. All but 2 of my squads are able to have 5 units. My problem is that my last 2 or 3 squads I’m really having trouble marking them good. I say I’m that they can only take on me Infantry, or flyers etc.
@89Games
@89Games Ай бұрын
I can be hard to get 10, 100% solid squads especially since the best items in the game are limited and can only be used in a handful of squads. Personally, on my second playthrough I stuck to just 6 squads and did well, though only 3 of these were able to handle pretty much everything, the others were more specialized. So just get 2 or 3 squads to be your solid frontliners/pushers and specialize the others like one squad that is purely defensive, maybe one or two just for assists, one with flyers etc.

@@89Games well I’m about 70 hours in and I’m basically doing a 100% run as I play the game, so doing/ getting everything before the final boss. I’m roughly 30-40% thru Albion. More or less about 7 of my squads can fight and handle any situation but the last 2 or 3 are not very diverse I guess, they can only handle 1 unit type. Be it archers, infinity or whatever. The problem I’m having I guess is what I have to fill out my final 2/3 squads are healers and they don’t add the advantage of being best for archers, or cavalry or whatever

I'm sure you already know my thoughts on UO. lets leave it at its 1 of the GOATs of TRPGs. Minimum top 3. I'm here though to talk about another vanillaware masterpiece: 13 sentinels. Been hooked on this game recently and i want to talk about its "maligned" gameplay. Top 5 insights: 1. I'm playing on intense (hardest difficulty for NG) and yes its too easy. But thats me. I know what i'm doing. Others who go in blind (i did know the game likes to send hordes over tough enemies so AOE is king) may have difficulty. The difficulty reminds me of diofield chronicle. Its not so much that you'll lose. Its just about how long the battle takes. Havent been challenged yet 1/3 the way into the game. 2. and #1 is a disappointment because man the systems are meaty. Theres so many ways to customize: sentinel upgrades, gear unlock/upgrades, pilot skills, have 13 party members available early, 4 sentinel types (essentially classes) and customizing your tower (aegis) which can give a variety of party buffs like increased resource drops (meta-chips), party buffs, party heals, massive aoe burst dmg, etc. 3. Interesting mechanic that forces you to use other sentinels. Every time you use a party member as part of the attack team, the pilot's fatigue (BOL) increases. When it hits max, you cant use them for 1 battle. The fatigue meter increases quick. Like after 2-3 battles its maxed. 5. And the game gives you options. You want to just use a specific party? Sure. You can remove fatigue by spending resources and killing your streak.meter. if you have an ongoing streak meter then your rewards are increased post fight. So theres a very in-depth system. Too bad the game doesnt really make you have to think/research because the difficulty isnt too tough early on. Could change later. So yeah if you want to play an all melee team even if its ineffective because its fun for you, you can. Want to play all support? sure. You still have enough to clear the battles as long as you arent afrer S-rank finishes like i am. Anyway just thought i'd share. Perhaps it'll entice you to check it out. Haha. So yeah great customization, challenge is meh early (i recommend playing it on intense) and as mentioned previously, the story is EXCELLENT. like better than triangle strategy, FFT, etc. another masterpiece.

@@89Games yeah i got mine brand new but i bought it from a re-seller who sold it for $33 but it was sealed so i still got those bonus art cards inside (love this by vanillaware by the way. These little freebies. I got a calling card case when i bought UO). Definitely highly recommended. I now understand what the hype is about. only gripe so far is perhaps a harder difficulty setting (essentially a true zenoiran). That could come later though. I am about 1/3 the way in. I havent researched if there's an NG+ difficulty.
