Bro, I'm Puerto Rican. Both parents my mom and my dad are Puerto Rican. Both grandparents on both sides are all Puerto Rican. But for some reason, my generation didn't pick up the Spanish growing up. My mom wanted me to be as American as possible to not miss up on opportunities. Anywho, I didn't even like trying to learn it growing up. But I'm at a time in my life where I really want to learn the language that should have been my first. And being Puerto Rican, we obviously speak somewhat different than other Spanish cultures. So I really appreciate you bro. I appreciate you and your channel. Keep up the good stuff! 👍

same here bro. I just turned 34 last month and I've been on a mission. I'm half black half rican just like rocky. black mom, pr pops but my pops never spoke it in the house growing up so now it's time to play catch up

ME TOO, well except I lived in Korea, and my mom wanted me to speak only Korean- my Mexican dad was not a part of the picture so I didn't have the opportunity.

Hey Rocky, the videos are really helpful. I wanted if the formatting for these story videos are most effective. Maybe it would be easier to have one Spanish sentence over a English one so it’s better to read and catch more words. Gracias por tu ayuda !

Rocky puedes explicarme la significa de, “que es la que hay”. Parece que usaría este frase como, “whats up” pero cuando yo busco para este frase en el internet, dice que la significa esta, “what is there”. Muchos gracias!

Hey Jack, yes you got it right, it's "What's Up!" I guess if I were to translate it to English it would be super slang like "Yo, What it is?"🤣

@@SpeakSpanishFaster Thank you, Rocky, for explaining this! I have been struggling to understand what you say at the beginning of many of your videos. At first, I had trouble knowing what Spanish words you use and then I struggled to interpret them. Just today I concluded that it means "What's up?" After that, I found your answer to Jack!

q es la q hay is more of a colloquial puertorican way of saying it. if you’re looking for a neutral “what’s up” it’s “que tal”

you have the best non-mexican channel and i love what you are trying to do. your hyper speed does not make sense to me so i slowed it down to 75% is this cheating. also are chunks ie group off words that mean something different from their translation universal.?

Do youu teach spanish that someone would learn at home like growing up or spanish that someone would learn in school? i heard theyre not the same and i would like to learn spanish as if i was taught growing up.
