They are selling these for around $30 at lowes. For that price you can do all the best smokers mods available out there and will still be cheaper than any similar unit. It works good, just need a reliable temp gauge. 190 F on mine was around 225 F in reality, and can stay there for hours.

I just scooped up one of these for 15 bucks. I think it was the bigger one. But, I'm looking forward to trying it.

the bottom graye should be over the water pan, not the charcoal. you can add coals through the door this way. Just a tip to make it easier. good review

This thing would never get up to 225-275 temp. I’ve used a lot of bullet smokers and never had this issue! I would not buy another one!! I’d opt for a different one for sure

I was just gifted one of these. But really struggle with the temp staying up near 225+ with normal amounts of coal that are supposed to last all day.

Yea it leaks a lot of heat. Best thing to do is still some holes on the charcoal pan for extra air. And bend the door in slightly to make it flush.

Here's a suggestion....remove the coal bowl and drill a series of small holes in it 10-12 in one side or bottom....it works well

Well, hold up now, because It told you to use 8lbs and you only use 4 so had you used the other 4, per the instructions it would have been enough correct to her going? That's what you said, correct?

Beer can chicken and Italian sausage are my favorites. I used to do it on my Weber grill, but I just received a masterbuilt bullet from a couple that's moving and needed it gone. The charcoal door isn't establishing a good seal, and I'm trying to find a good way to establish a seal and allow for greater airflow to the charcoal. Any ideas?

You can use a seal with high temp tolerances or painstakingly bend the edges of the door to make better contact with the smoker body

Just installed mine today. What’s the purpose of the water bowl? I see you didn’t have it in your video.

Water bowl helps keep the meat from drying out. You can also put some spices in there to help infuse the meat

I recently bought one of these smokers too as a beginner from Lowes. Do you have any suggestions on the leaking heat? And did you have any trouble controlling the temp? I don't think the temp gauge is too accurate.

The leaking heat is a big problem as I’ve begun using it more. There’s a pretty significant gap between the smoker and the door they provide. Bend it in a bit and that helps. I also ended up drilling a few holes in the charcoal bowl to allow upward air circulation. The temp gage doesn’t seem accurate. So I really just go by the temp of my meat.

It is the temp gauge, 190sF on mine was about 225F. It will stay at this temp for hours.

The front gate on it doesn’t seal well, might wanna check for gaps and do some minor bending. Also may want to drill some holes in the charcoal pan for better air circulation.

Not a bad deal. They struggle a bit with heat retention. Most loss is through the door.
