Pardon me, I kept accidentally saying “digitally” mastered. Please ignore.

This is a really cool video. I've not found many (if any) taking a deep dive on mastered in 4k titles. Bottom line on these releases is the few titles were released by Sony around 2012 to bridge a gap before The UHD alliance was formed and UHD Blu Ray could be developed. These are the same principle as Superbit DVD. highest possible bit rate and colour space that the current format supports and the scaler optimization would be seen on the latest Sony Bravia technologies. This was all before HDR happened to 4k. Again folks have to remember that UHD was only rec 709 colour and just only 4x the resolution. And wasn't till Dolby Vision happened that 4k UHD took off. So these discs came much closer (at the time) to giving a better "impression" on a Sony Bravia when walking through a TV Store back in 2012. Just like Superbit did before HD.

I Thought The Darker Seens The 4K Version Looked More GRAINY... 😳 And The Lighter Seens The 4K Version Looked To Have Brighter Colors... But What I Thought You Was Going To Do A Comparison Between Regular Blu-ray, & Mastered In 4K... Ohh We'll I'll Just Buy It & Find Out For Myself...

Mastered in 4K just 1080p Blu 4ay at high bit rate it's better than regular 1080p Blu ray disc but not by much.

4K disk every time no matter how much you love the 4K transfer on a Blu-Ray it will never be as shocking as seeing the great results for the $5 to $10 more for the 4K disk

I see no difference what so ever. I have been collecting 4k since last March and sort of gone overboard with it but I really don't see a difference at all. I (now I should upgrade my 4k tv since it is a few years old. Maybe thath might help?

Depends on the quality Of The screen you got, I got the newest 4K OLED and the difference between 1080 and 4K are night and day for me.

@@themockbustercanada I will definitely have to save up and upgrade tv and surround sound systems to Dolby atmos

Unless your 4K TV is a cheapo one and or lacks HDR, there should be no need to upgrade.

In shots from round 1 and 3, you can see that the boys badges are clearer and in the sewer shot with lizard in round 3, you can read the sign behind him better, overall mastered in 4k blu ray is good, but hdr and dolby vision are the reasons 4k ultra hd blu rays are better in terms of quality.

The 4k disc has something that remastered in 4k disc doesn't have, HDR, Dolby Vision. That's worth the upgrade. Unless someone has a low-end tv then it doesn't matter. Lol

This is from 2012 or something. And im sure that Ultra HD was just the other brands take on Blu Rays? They had the war going on Ultra HD disc vs Blu Rays, like the BetaMax vs VHS war bsck in the 80's. And as we know.. Blu Ray won that. So im a bit confused here.. 😎
