Most Americans don’t really take off their shoes in the house until they are about to walk on carpet, then they will take shoes off. Or unless told otherwise.

8:07 when you pronounced なくてもyou sounded like the くbecame voiceless or omitted,, なくbecame nak instead of na ku,,, is that how it was supposed to sound like?

Sensei, correct me if I’m wrong. I think “なく+てもいいですよ” translates to “it’s ok you do not ___” The meaning is close to “don’t have to ___” but not exactly the same. For example, “Because tomorrow is weekend, I don’t have to work.” 明日は週末だから働かなくてもいいです。 Is there another way to express “don’t have to ___”? Thank you very much.

You are right 😌🙌 ★[verb]なくても いいですよ。 It’s ok even if you don’t [verb]. = You don’t have to [verb]. ‘ You don’t have to ‘ means You can do it if you want but you don’t have to … right? And ‘ You don’t need to’ means just no need. ★ [ないform]て いいですよ。 = You don’t need to [verb]. * just get rid of も . So for your example sentence, I think it’s more natural to say 週末だから、働かなくていいです。

The umbrella one is "you don't have to take an umbrella" kasawo motteikana kutemoiidesuyo. Bring is mottekimasu right? Which would had been "kasawo mottekona kutemoiidesuyo". Because you kept on saying bring but it's take. Or maybe since the meaning can either be take or bring an umbrella, depending on the context, it doesn't really matter 😅😅😅 kinda confused about it.

I checked my vocabulary verb lists. According to it, MOTTE IKU = to take (a thing) For example : take an an umbrella with you when you GO outside. MOTTE KURU = to bring ( a thing) For example: bring a thing( an umbrella or takeaway food or anything) with you when you go COME home. Sensei cant be wrong, shes our teacher 😅
