One thing I learned in riding the transition is that we are not riding down into it we are ridingforward into it. It’s just as important of a forward gate as the Cantor is.

Yes I found this video very helpful indeed. I rode my horse this morning and knew my transitions were sloppy and therefore making my horse confused. I reckon if i use the 1, 2 & 1, 2, 3, tip it will be a good aid for me. Thanks for being clear & concise it makes such a difference.

Great video - answering a question I had just yesterday as my horse and I transitioned roughly from canter to trot. Love the rhythm idea of dancing the two-step (trot) vs. riding the waltz (canter)! Can't wait to get out into the arena to apply this today. Thank you.

I used to obey to my instinct and it worked pretty well. Now it is a bit different with a big break during my life and health issues. I' ll see next time, when my humeral will be repaired.😉😁

Tbh my current challenge are all downward transitions - canter to trot and trot to walk. I’m facing the problem with an eager trotter, he’s pretty old class horse but still a bit pushy from time to time - so all of my transitions are pretty awful 😞 When I try to sit myself down on trot to walk transition, I feel really bouncy and leaning forward at the same time (while still trotting, bc he can’t understand my command and feel the balance in such way). Hope I’ll master it, bc I start to feel that situation is out of control sometimes and the horse just doesn’t really listen to me…

do you have any idea why the horse i ride doesn’t listen to what i ask him to do? i want him to go left but he either goes the opposite direction or just goes straight. He cuts off circles too, and even though i steer him he goes to jump and i can barely stop him. i literally dont know what to do and i have a constant fear while riding him because of these.
