Brings me to tears hearing the first part and the last parts of this performance. She really brings the Whitney Houston nod in those moments. Everything in the middle is all So Hyang! Perfect balance!

So Hyang does not over sing this song. Her purity of tone, and depth of feeling with just a piano and guitar is astounding. Even Whitney had a tendency to over sing this. But they have different motivations for singing. Whitney to show her great skills and So Hyang to heal and comfort. Great having both versions. Of course So Hyang could also knock your socks off.

It's just so easy for her in the original key which means she can concentrate on dynamics and the understated ornamentals (plus the sung sax solo!) For a fun reaction from the same series try Day Day where you get treated to So Hyang rapping along with some trademark mixed belts.

true. her voice really doesn't really take off in this key, as crazy as that sounds, which is why it doesn't sound as high like when whitney or other singers sing it. but we love to see versatility in perfromance. can't belt as high as usual? just show them the dynamics haha

OMG.. for the first time i am listening to her and her voice is so beautiful and that singing skills, i couldn't help joyous tears pouring down from my eyes at the end of the performance and she is so so good and there are many woww wahh moments goosebumps in the middle of the performance. so beautifully done.. loved it.. thanks for reacting to this video.. coz of you Andy i know her now..

For your info, Sohyang has dedicated her life to Christ from the age of 18. She is a CCM (gospel) singer. She only really started performing contemporary songs at age of 32. She rejected many offers from big agencies from Korea to US, including that of the late Michael Jackson, to sing for God. Her goal is to use her songs to give comfort to those who needs healing. Her manager is her father-in-law. In her spare time she practices singing lolz. Most of her time is used for writing novels. She has already published a few volumes of fantasy fiction, and a few non fiction books.

This is a great show. They usually go to a different country, but this year because of covid-19, they stayed in Korea and sang for their own countrymen. Common people in different locations. To try to give some joy to people as they are going thru the pandemic. All these singers and musicians are wonderfully talented. Very worth your time for anyone interested in listening to some beautiful performances.

Welcome back. Someone remarked that this Sohyang performance is exquisite and I think it is such a fitting description. Every note is sung with so much clarity and definition, in an acoustic setting, that you can fully digest every intonation and each detail of her vocal control. Thanks for checking in. Her name is Lee Hi, one of the top singers in South Korea. She has a similar singing style to Amy Winehouse with a rich tone. Even she can appreciate how amazing that performance was.
