This was the best explanation. I was not going to pay to have the filters installed

Did it myself only to find that when they originally installed it they switched one and two filters. Glad I watched this video. So much for the trained experts.

I am so grateful that you put up this video! I changed all my filters in my Culligan AC30. The only problem I have now is that my RO faucet is dripping. Any idea what can cause this? I'm thinking that it could be the o rings in the faucet. Thanks again!

Culligan is expensive. It’s the same here in eastern WI. Other systems are nowhere near as expensive. I wish I would have never gone with them.

I don't know what is wrong with the haters. This is great for the DIY guy. I appreciate you saving me $100/year. The only thing I had a problem with at first was how to free the tubing but it was because I didn't listen carefully after that smooth sailing and it was easy to find another video covering that in detail. Thanks a bunch.

The technician did not show how to test the flow rate, although I think I can just put a 2 quart pitcher under the faucet and measure it without a silly little beaker. He also didn't show how to drain the tank and how to measure the required 10 pound pressure. That's why I watched the video.

Thanks this is very helpful I was able to follow it step by step!

Could someone go into more detail about the part where he uses a beaker to test the production rate? That looks like a small beaker to me. What amount of water determines when the ro filter is ready to be replaced?

The service manual available online for this unit recommends sanitizing the system with either hydrogen peroxide or Clorox when changing filters but isn't real clear on the procedure. I was hoping this fellow would have demonstrated the procedure.

You have to get these filters from Culligan. They WILL charge you about $90 for the filters, even if you change them yourself. Other RO system filters are nowhere near as expensive. Not a fan of Culligan!

For those of you complaining.....maybe you should thank him for sharing what he intended and contact your own rep for assistance. This man is not responsible for your own level of intelligence. Read some handyman guides to learn the basics before commenting you do not understand. Great video on how to go about it systematically. Will be getting my rep on phone to see what is needed for parts now.

At 1:25 you replace the capillary assembly. Why? Do you replace it every time? The culligan owner's manual doesn't mention changing it.
@steve_ks3 жыл бұрын
It’s Culligan so I’ve learned not to expect much from the company in general. Your question is a great o e that my local Culligan dealer doesn’t address either.
@AR-xu2gg3 жыл бұрын
He doesn’t replace it, he cleans the filter that is on the end. The capillary tube can be replaced if it’s clogged. I replaced mine after 20 years because it was clogged with rust particulates purchasing it from culligan.
@susanweslag6 жыл бұрын
Great video EXCEPT it would have been extremely helpful to notate WHICH FILTER is #1, Which filter is #2 etc. Just saying "replace filter number one" is not helpful. I have replacement filters and I have no idea which one goes in which canister because they look a lot different than the used ones. =/

The filters are labeled on the back. The middle one is 3. So it goes 1 3 2

I managed this easily, once I called the local Culligan folks and they told me that to free the tubing you need to press IN on the collars and pull OUT on the tubing. This wasn't that clear in the video.

Know this is an old post, and hopefully fixed. I believe it could have something to do with the Capillary Assembly not being cleaned.
@ClarkJackson4 жыл бұрын
And you don't push in on the tube to remove them, you pull on the tube while pushing the ring/clamp against the filter body. From the manual: To disconnect the connector, hold the collar against the fitting body and pull the tube from the fitting. Not sure whats up with crappy plumber vids on youtube.. I think they are trying to ensure they stay employed.
