Sick of people complaining about their new sound. I mean, God forbid a band creates something that they want to.
@TheGrebach10 жыл бұрын
the album is ok. But the sound really sux. I mean the SOUND, not the songs. Same thing goes to last Alice in chains album. Fuckin 600 guitars and all that shit sounds blurry.

alvaro andres allende matus i mean compression of modern metal bands really sucks ass. Listen to 1992 alice in chains album and to 2013 album. You can't hear guitar melody in a lot of songs, cuz sound engineering fucking sux. Ofcourse maybe they wanted it to sound shoegazy. But, that doesn't apply to Mastodon much, their sound is still quite ok.

This band basically never failed an album. First time I heard this, I needed some time to get accostumed to it, just as for the Hunter. But they are both AMAZING. So therefore, I don't think there is an album by Mastodon that I don't like, it's all gorgeous music. I hope they don't stop!! I want a new big psychedelic adventure to be told! )))
@youfeartomorrow7 жыл бұрын
Lorenzo Tosi new album coming soon is supposedly a continuation of OMRTS with the producer of Crack The Skye. This could be amazing.

@@youfeartomorrow Well, did you like it?
@youfeartomorrow2 жыл бұрын
@@nolanwitty4329 can’t lie, I haven’t dug anything new mastodon has put out. Not to be “ah this isn’t heavy” cause I love Once More Round The Sun, but my taste has just changed over time. Remission will always be my favorite of theirs. I think in terms of sludge metal I’ve gone down the Neurosis hole

i love it that Mastodon are so fluid and they evolve their sound in every album

I yelled at Dailor once when he was getting off the bus at the Hunter/Heritage show in Seattle. When he got behind the kit he smiled and pointed his sticks right at me in recognition (I was in the front row being loud and beligerent). Cool moment from what seem to be really down to earth chaps. I'm actually more excited about this album than the new Opeth one.

I know that I have no room to talk because I've only liked Mastodon for a few months, but if you don't like any of what they're going to release, then don't listen to it. I know it's different compared to Remission, but they're evolving. You can think it's good or bad, but remember one thing. No one is forcing you to listen to it.
@LeftEyeless10 жыл бұрын
Song at the end sounds amazing. Prog rock goodness incoming people. Remission was great but those of you wishing for it over and over again are going to be disappointed. Mastodon have found their home in prog rock with generally cleaner singing and hooks. This is a good thing imo, can't wait for this album!

That Brann vocal!!! Man I'm even more stoked over this than High Road. This album is shaping up to be something really special I think. For me, the Mastodon boys never cease to amaze with their studio albums.

Mastodon has been my favorite band since Leviathan. The best part about Mastodon is that they are constantly evolving and creating the music that they want to play. I have never been let down once by these guys. Ten seconds of Dailor's vocal work in this video has me more pumped for this album than any album from any band before. They just keep raising the bar. Whoever their producer is, GREAT job pushing the vocals along! We're not likely so see anymore "Where Strides the Behemoth" tracks on their albums going forward, but that's ok. They've tapped into a vein of pure music excellence. New album comes out two weeks from today. Going to be two very long weeks...

And additionally, I can totally see Brann going solo and being very successful at it. He seems to have great musical vision as he is an incredible drummer, an excellent vocalist and I've heard that he has written a fair few classic Mastodon riffs as well.

Gonna be one of my favorites of all time:) Wonder is Brann can pull it off behind the kit, but regardless to play the drums and sing is one of the harderst things to do musically. This is one of those bands that has a very high ceiling and when they reach it, its nothing but cathartic

I like all their albums. Sure, so far it doesn't have the thunder and virtuosity of Remission/Leviathan which is what got me into them in the first place, but they are great at writing hooks and simplicity in their music as well. I respect them a lot for not listening to all the fanboys and just doing whatever the hell they want.

Sounds pretty cool to me and I've been a fan for since I saw them with 20 people on the remission touring. But I'm skeptical they can pull off such Brann heavy vocals live. They've worked so hard on live vocals but they keep releasing music that is g oddamned difficult on Brann.

Is it just me, or does Brann sorta sound like Ozzy in this? So excited for this album.
@ssmith8710 жыл бұрын
i'm excited for the album too, they're my favorite band. I don't know if he sounds like Ozzy, but it does have that 80's metal scream to it like Iron Maiden or something, which is kind of nice because so many bands want to try and out scream one another or try and have the most 'brutal' growls. I mean i don't mind it that much, but it's nicety see Mastodon not going along with the 'norm'.
