It's really bizarre seeing Brent act normal.

it makes me kinda sad when i think about what would he create if he let his musical genius grow, but maybe that's the way he chose, we'll never know

That was his album. The man gave away his sanity for this one

I think a lot of it is an act. There are moments here and there in some of the recent footage where he is acting like this.
@CugelcleverАй бұрын
I think he just likes to have fun doing interviews, etc. I don't think he's truly crazy like a lot of people do. He's just goofing off usually.

Troy has always been a huge inspiration to me, as a singing bassist. His tones, his riffs, everything he does fucking slaps, and all while singing (though admittedly it took him a while to really get his voice to where it is today.)

What an amazing bassist. So much groove, subtlety and thought put into his playing. Some of the most fun bass lines ever too. Its neat watching his process, especially for this album which is easily my favorite of theirs. Also what he does for the prog break in the Last Baron is so cool. Such weird timing at points and its so fucking dope.

@Goose215 жыл бұрын
Paisa Assassin yeah always thought stargasm had a different vibe from the rest of the Hunter makes sense
@kasper74315 жыл бұрын
@@paisa_assassin7755 Nevermind, it turns out the riff to Stargasm was written in 2010, after Crack the Skye was released. Sorry for the misinformation. Brann Dailor told Kerrang!: "This one is space-metal. That's where our heads were on this record. The riff was born when Brent was jamming backstage when we toured with Alice in Chains. I taped him playing on my phone, then played it back to him when we were writing the album."
@bewaremusic3933 Жыл бұрын
That surely raises a question: what other songs were cut?

Troy is deffinitively in the favor of Yort! Imo he's one of the greates Bass players around! And it's nice to see, how he too mostly uses hes indexfinger for playing bass, seems it's not so wrong after all.

they will never make another album as good as this simply because it was created out of a very unusual and rare tragic event

@mdd475 жыл бұрын
Easier said than done. How do you make another Crack the Skye? I think they realized it wasn't possible and that's why they deconstructed their sound a little bit, as a way to move forward. Emperor of Sound is still a complex/inventive/progressive work without sounding like CTS. I don't think there's any shame in realizing you've already peaked and you're probably not going to be able to get back there. Hell, I'm 44 years old. I'm smarter than I was when I was 30, but otherwise there's not a whole lot that I can do any better now than I could when I was younger. You just have to work with what you've got.
