I was lucky enough to recently visit the one and only ‪@MatArmstrongbmx‬'s garage, to see just what it is that makes this KZfaq sensation tick.
I check out some of the latest exotic cars that he’s saving from the scrap heap, and hear more about his fascinating past and ambitious future plans.
Mat is one of the nicest, most genuine guys on the scene, so it was great to finally see where most of his incredibly popular KZfaq content is filmed from for myself.

I'm knocking 40 and since the proper top gear went off air, all I watched afterward was KZfaq car content..... and if someone said one day you would be watching the stig, and Matt Armstrong on a side by side vlog, not only that to be as entertaining and engaging as prime time top gear was, I 100% said bs. Love it!!

You’ve got fifteen years to catch up with me, but I absolutely agree, most if not all of my car content comes from KZfaq now. Mind you I did listen to Ben’s books on Audible in the car, well worth reading or listening to them, very entertaining.

I am subscribed to *many* Car - KZfaq - channels, all the well known ones i guess, but Mat´s channels stick out for several reasons. And for someone like me who suffers from severe depression for more than 3 decades, the positive vibes and laughter and fun they bring to the viewer is SO important ! I almost completely lost the ability to enjoy *anything* , but when i watch Mat`s Videos, i always have a smile on my face. He puts me in a better mood, almost like therapy. Mat, if you read this: THANK YOU ! For making me feel better for a while.

I can honestly say.That I’ve been a tele addict my whole life.I’m 61! But over the last 3-4 years I’ve switched to KZfaq more and more.I rarely watch tv anymore.I’m hooked on content like Mats,Chris Slix,Freddie and many many more.They’re a Petrol heads dream watch.Look forward to seeing the Lancia finished Ben,and then maybe you’ll do a late 70’s early 80’s Alfa or the early 70’s era BMW 2002 turbo

Matt has the greatest personality and attitude, it’s inspirational. He’s always happy and makes people feel good no matter if thangs are falling apart around him he still keeps that great outlook.

I would love to see Mat and his dad restore an old rusty classic, particularly if it was a car that his dad would have loved to have owed when he was Mat's age. Cutting out rust and restoring an old beater would be a different challenge and skill set.

The early Koenigseggs are very much a parts bin special. There was a crashed CCXR privately rebuilt in south Africa in 2011 and lots of Merc and Volvo parts found... I got to sit in it at the scrap dealer and even in its broken state still a phenomenal machine! The modern Eggs are probably a completely different story entirely.

Dude , you have to do regular updates on the Lancia please , I never really appreciated them at the time . But now you have got to admit what an awesome piece of kit . Mat and Co deserve all the credit and subs they get . All earned from grafting , trying and having a good mindset. A good inspiration for anyone. Car game is a very hard trade to earn money or be successful in . full of unknowns , unpaid labour , people who won’t think twice about shafting you etc etc . Main thing is guy’s loyalty brings trust and a bit of give and take is acceptable, just don’t take the ‘P’ out of people kind enough to help especially when it’s for free. Rather old school values that unfortunately can be a bit thin on the ground these days . ❤👍

£80k plus for a good Lotus Carlton now though. Awesome cars, I seem to remember a rumour (or fact?) that the UK POLICE were looking to have them banned from sale in UK. The fastest production saloon when they came out at the time. I agree though, a few classics might be a nice addition to Mat’s channel.

Would love to see you do an Escort/Sierra Cosworth ... Mk2 Escort, Lancia Delta/037, Audi Quattro etc ... however, I think a lot of those are now 'garage queens' .. less likely to be crash damaged due to being preserved. Love @mattarmstrong been watching for a few years now,and great to hear he wont be working on soulless electric cars. His enthusiasm for his work coupled with the people that help,his dad,liam,chris slix the cameram man (cant remember his name)and also Freddie and jack from the States amongst others,it really is worth watching,even my mrs enjoys it and she's really not that arsed about cars!
