I understand Barzal’s thought process taking that penalty. He was hurt, and Lazar tried running him into the boards right after so he was really just protecting himself and not get injured and leave the game.

agreed. Made perfect sense. What a bunch of gutless bullies this Bruins team really is. They are lucky they have even won a Cup recently. Should have won a second one, but they ran into an even bigger bully, and so - even though they were the better team - they folded like cowards. One of their heart-and-soul guys even turned coats and joined the Blues ... and then crapped out in the 1st round; LMAO.

I 1000% agree with the decision to earn the 2 minutes. He was not cheated, and that checker will think twice before coming over to hit him, which will result in more space to play the puck. This is a smart penalty early in a series.

The stick actually fit below the shoulder pad and the pad hit his face, but definitely a penalty. The NHL has gotten a lot rougher as of late. Refs are letting it go.

Barzal didn't get called for a high sticking penalty on the play. It was a crosscheck. A pretty weak call too. The Bruins player came in to hit Barzal when the puck was no where near him. Barzal used his stick to protect himself. His stick didn't even make contact with the Bruins players face. Got him on the right shoulder and chest. The Bruin player then embellished it to draw the penalty. Weak call, especially for a playoff game. I'm not a fan of either. Just stating what I see. I know Bruins fans will see it differently.

If it was up to me I would have given Barzal 2 for crosschecking and Krejci 5 and a game. The Isles would have had a 3 minute pp. I'm assuming you are talking about that play. I am getting the impression that you don't have a lot of knowledge of the game.

Should Tinordi also be suspended for cross-checking Barzal into the boards from behind before Barzal cross-checked him in retaliation? Just askin'..... I'm listening to the Bruins radio feed on NHL radio and funny thing-- they NEVER MENTION the cross-check by Tinordi, and even after watching the replay of Barzal's retaliatory cross-check to the CHEST, they continue to insist that Barzal hit Tinordi in the face and rant and rave about how the refs MUST assess a major on Barzal. I didn't think it was possible, but the radio guys are just as sorry a pair of homers as the Bruins' TV team.
